I haven’t got a bloody clue anymore.

I think the last few days in the aftermath of the Bournemouth shambles have fried my brain.

Anyone else feeling all over the shop?

Rollercoaster of emotions sums it up well.

I had a thought earlier that crept in.

’Should we have just kept Rodgers?’

Crazy.

Wasn’t to positive until I started seeing a lot of love for Smith from the Villa fans… coupled with Shakey who we all know is a good coach and JT who I’d say is 1 of the best defenders in my generation it’s started to grow on me! Hope they put a bit of fire in the lads belly…. I still think we’ll go down but I’m more hopeful than I was when I seen we were getting Marsch in

The pessimist in me has already started planning for the Championship next season, and Benitez was the obvious choice for me. So I ticked no for both, not sure what they can do what we have already tried. But I suppose a little bit of common sense with the Starting XI and substitutions are always welcome, we have been deprived of that by BR and the caretakers.

IMO we're still done based on what I saw against Bournemouth, but prove me wrong Smith and Shakey, our PL status depends on it.

Overall i'm comfortable more importantly with the set up he's bringing with him than I was Marsch, despite liking what I read about Marsch's style of play.

I don't think we'll survive the drop however. Not after Saturday. The damage had already been done thanks to hanging onto Rodgers for so long anyway.

We can only hope though.

Feels like an end of an era appointment.

Nothing against the guys but just feels like an appointment with one and a half eyes on the championship

Sacked Rodgers far to late in the day....should have just kept him on...it was a panic decision....should have gone back in October....this is desperate now....you have to think that there's a clause in the contract that says keep us up and you get a 3 year deal else whats the incentive for these guys?

it really can't get any worse now, but unfortunately SS&T are missing the two games against Villa and Bournemouth...

...the only hope I have is that the last game against West Ham will be a real final...

2 games too late imo.

Could have been worse, we'll go down still and do the rebuild the club has needed for a long time.

Time for the board to take things back to how things were and be less of a dictatorship towards the fans and running of the club.

Serious bonus. Fat Sam style.

I’m coming round to this. The trio of Smith, Shakey & Terry brings some immediate benefits from the last regime.

Shakey will be genuinely invested in a positive outcome as this all started under him and Pearson, and he is an exceptional coach.

JT was a world class CB who won everything going at club level, he will command respect from our conference level defence and hopefully be able to improve us. Just a perception but I would back JT to get more

out of our lot than Kolo did!

And then obviously Smith, possibly a little uninspiring but he’s been here before, which I think counts for a lot. This ain’t the time to bury heads and pretend everything is ok (aka Brendan), we need to confront the beast, get some results however messy and ‘find a way’.

I can certainly get behind this more than I would have Marsch, who I suspect would have been very energetic but … sh!t.

I'll take it.

Smith seems like a decent, genuine bloke. Not sold on him 100% as a manager but as a trio they will be solid enough. We know what we're getting with Shakey and that defence needs putting in its place- having someone like Terry around, who knows how to win and win ugly, could be what we need.

It's clear from the last 2 games that the backroom staff were fully invested in Rodgers ball, so clear the decks and start again.
