Cars towed away.

Walking to the ground two cars were being towed away on Aylestone rd.created a long tailback. How do you know where your car is? Do they leave a note?Anyone on here own the cars?

Yeah we were walking by as it was being towed.

 

The car was parked in front of the Van Monster gates. 

 

We were wondering why they couldn't wait 15 minutes until after kick off and it was causing huge traffic jams.

Obviously I have no experience of this. So when you return to where you parked your car and realise it’s not where you left it, you will react one or two of a number of ways.

1 shrug your shoulders and think **** it, it was a shit car anyway.

2 call the police thinking it’s been stolen. (Who will inform you of its location).

3 Realise it’s been towed having had it happen before and go straight to the pound.

4 try to get in a similar looking car.

 

I have no experience of this.

It was April 2012 and I was living in Burlington, Vermont. It was the annual street sweeping night and I'd been receiving emails and texts about it saying check when your zone's night is and make arrangements for the parking ban. There are signs in various parts of the city that say parking ban in effect when the lights are flashing and the lights were flashing. So It was probably some time between 10 and midnight and I have no clue where I was going or for what but I was walking down the sidewalk and 2 cars were being towed. A guy came up to me and said, "They're towing cars. They can't do that. You gotta help me." And I said "No, it's street sweeping night. There's a parking ban." And they guy was not happy with me. He must have thought I was in on the government conspiracy.

What's that coming over the hill - is it a towtruck, is it a towtruck?

Surely, it's not a question of where your vehicle is but to be careful where you park it in the first place.

When the owners went back to find their cars after the game...

Because they must have asked it to be towed away.  Happened to me many years ago,  someone had attempted to steal my car but for some reason abandoned it in the middle of the road just a few yards away.  Rang the police to report it stolen,  they were able to tell me straight away where they had taken it.  This was before we had the technology,  that is available to the police today.

Any reason for the ridiculous traffic after the game?

 

Its always been a pig to get out around Aylestone Road and/or through the City after a game but it seemed exceptionally bad on Saturday.

 

I guess people staying till the end was a contributing factor but don’t think I’ve ever quite known it as bad as Saturday.

I couldn't find my car when I went back to it but then remembered it was an Invisible Datsun
