You can argue we'd never have had the chance of winning without playing the way we've had. If you play with the mindset of trying to make results, occasionally it will backfire.

It's difficult because you feel Aussies will win this without having to do anything and they can win the ashes just by letting us do ourselves over.

Cummins is something else

Him and Khawaga have been brilliant this test.

Whereas we've had a few perform below par IMO.

Well done Aussies.  Massive ask for us to win the series now.

Yep. Lyon esp has done really well today - (too well :P )

Love our new style in the tests but the fact is as methodical as it is, they are just a better test team than us.

Openers will score more than ours

Cummins when needed in the lower order will score more than Broad

Lyon will take twice the wickets of Moeen

The declaration isn't the problem.

It's Quarter past 7 on day 5. Without it this is a dull draw.

Ultimately for me the problem is the missed chances off Bairstow. His poor keeping has cost us the match for me.

People will talk about the declaration, but basic skills have cost England.

Jonny has missed a number easy chances and the no ball wicket.

Yeah Bairstow more to blame than the declaration, I'd say.

Not necessarily. The whole complexion would/could have changed
