Not a huge fan of Carragher but a relief not to have Neville's random noises.

Did you know for the last three decades Poch and Pep have been battling each other in a epic struggle worthy of Homer's Iliad?  It's only been mentioned fifteen times.

Wonderful game though.

Slightly disturbed by some of the noises Carragher was making.

De Zerbi is a loser. Mahmoud Dahoud was clumsy and careless with his tackle. Deserved red. How can De Zerbi argue against that? Managers complain about anything. Your team failed to beat a pathetic Sheffield United team. Take responsibility instead of blaming refs.

Not bothered to look at the decision in the Brighton game but getting pretty bored of managers whinging about referees whenever they don't win.

Pretty clear cut stamp ( not deliberate) but obviously a red card .

I'd love some to hack into Newcastle United and make out they sacked Eddie Howe... and announced Tony Pulis as the new manager lol. Just to see the outcry would be lol.

If it's not deliberate, then it's not a stamp and it's not a red card.  The ref (presumably) thought it deliberate.

Or is accidentally standing on someone's foot a red card nowadays?  Certainly a lot of pundits think it is.  I suppose that's one of the "benefits" of VAR - that while standing on someone's foot was always common, as is inevitable when players are trying to occupy the same bit of ground to kick the same ball, they can now slow it down with slow motion and make it look deliberate.  With the secondary result that players know that screaming in agony and rolling around is likely to get someone sent off.

So easy to just blame refs now. They don't have that much of an influence on the game. Brighton failed to beat the worse side in the league, at home.

But it's easy, because a large hoard of fans do it to? Even in rugby you'll see Tigers lose a game and the FB comments section is moaning about the referee.

It's such a cop out, simple way of shrugging the blame off yourself and players. Blame the referee, blame VAR, sprinkle an intimation that they're all shit, intimate maybe that they're corrupt, that there's an agenda against their team.

It's truly pathetic all round tbh. Football is a game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Sometimes Team X loses because a decision might not have been right. Tell you what though, I bet Team X will benefit from a decision that might not have been right.

We want perfection. We're never going to get perfection. Maybe referees are "arrogant arsehole bastards" or whatever people want to use. But they're the ones who do it because they can probably take the ridiculous blame and abuse they get week in, week out. They probably have the thick skin needed to be a modern referee.

Also. Go to Spain, Italy, France, America. They ALL think their referees are shit, biased, crap, agenda driven. You could bus them in from abroad, you could start teaching kids aged 9 to be referees. They'd still get the blame, they'd still get abuse, they'd still get castigated.

This is one of the reasons the sport really is going to the dogs. I'm so tired of it. Everyone wants to moan. Fans, players, managers, club officials. Everyone wants to be hard done by, everyone needs an excuse.

He isn't is he?

I took that to mean basically "I don't like him but I can't argue with the red card."
