Deflection from how catastrophic this is. This isn’t a normal relegation. This is huge. But we are led to believe that because we are Leicester and relegation is part of our heritage (yes, I said that in a Mourinho accent) it’s normal. It isn’t normal.

Yep just seen that on twitter. That bottom paragraph is what Top should have been coming out and saying. Instead he made it all about how he received some mean messages from people.

People can sense sincerity in tone of voice and words. I did read some Leeds fans complaining that a statement hadn't been released earlier, but the extra couple of days have helped them to chose their words better.

Mostly agree ... we have very good owners ... the major difference has been the man in the chair making the ultimate decisions... this has been the problem dither and delay has cost us dearly ... they the board,Top and playing staff must be extremely nieve not to expect any grief after the season they have just served up on a deaf dumb and blind level

He talks about relegation as if its somewhat acceptable.

 

We never expected Top 6 year in year out. Even when they talked of Europe all we really wanted was promotion and stability. The last few years have not changed that. Ultimately Survival/Promotion is our base level historically. We can deal with it after a long spell away (a la 94/95, or even 2014/15 back in the PL for the first in a few years-though thankfully we survived) or it turns sour after progress (01-02)

 

But to go down in such a manner and to add fuel to the fire ignoring repeated warnings about what was to come. Calling out fans who warned this was about to happen is just pure ostrich.

Statement is neither here or there. Only thing that matters is what action is taken during the Summer. I do hope he doesn't sit on his hands too long.

 

The reason for the sorry mess comes from the Top (literally in this case) and only he can fix it.

Got to admit, at this point, I don't have much faith. But ain't nothing I can do change it.

He is literally selling Leeds to whoever comes up with the cash, and we think he is great because his PR guy wrote a nice press release, whereas Top may have written his own.  If nothing else this reminds me of when Gordon Brown penned a hand written apology to that lady he called a bigot, considering a hand written letter to be much more personal and obviously actually from him, and she was offended not to received a typed formal apology, her seeing that as more appropriate.  Communication is a two way street, and frankly you cannot please everyone even if you wanted to.  If the reader thinks you are a numpty who should leave, they are not going to like your message even if objectively it is as good as it can be.
