Over the past four seasons, five relegated teams from the Premier League have immediately returned the following season. It's becoming more common. We need to make sure we continue that trend next season.

Southampton, because FoxesTalk says Russell Martin is crap, so that means they are going to playing like a Pep Guardiola team and walking the league.

Southampton, i think they will win the league.

They have a much better squad than the Premier League suggests, i just think they were a year or two too early.

Why does everyone assume that their club will stay together? I keep having the same conversation with my nephew when he reels off the players he thinks will stay with us that realistically none of them will want to stay after taking a 35/50% wage cut… as fans I think we look at it from an emotional point of view when in reality in no other walk of life would you happily just ride out having your weekly wage cut in half (granted they’re contracted)… like us and Leeds I fully expect all 3 teams to be torn apart it’s all about how we/they re build

Do us or Leeds even have managers?

I wouldn't be shocked if none of the three did this year.

If we managed to keep a few players, Barnes, Daka, Nacho I think we've got a good chance as we've got goals.

Devil is in the detail of the contracts, we don't have to sell.

We might not go straight back up but I think this is an exaggeration. The standard of the championship really isn't as high as some on here are making out.

We've no manager

Half a squad

A really shit record on recruitment

The same board members that have systematically destroyed everything good about the way we operate

A seriously apathetic fan base who accept failure

A training ground and daily regime that has destroyed any team spirit / work ethic

A very poor academy to dip into

There is no value in backing that for promotion, the only value is a small bet on big odds at the other end imo.

We’ve seen how they play whilst sitting pretty on ridiculous wages… I can only imagine the graft they’d put in on half the wage lol

We don't even have a Manager yet. Kick off in the Championship is 10 weeks away. Players are leaving or have left.

We need a Manager right now, like today who is going to look at our squad and make decisions on the way back to the Premiership. Don't have any time to waste. right now we are wasting time.

Depends on how well we invest the money on player sales as our recruitment has been dire. We need grafters not just technically good players.  Southampton are used to recycling players after losing their best one's to other reams.

True you make them stay , they put little work in , they end up on the bench. Absolutely no point in keeping them.

Can't see Leeds coming back up. They will struggle to get in the playoffs. Probably similar to us although I think we will finish above them.

Southampton have a good chance of doing what Burnley did this year.

Burnley who just dominated the league were not far off in the exact same situation

No manager

Most of their best players leaving (some of them for free)

Crap recruitment

Owners who took over the club in a dodgy way and it had to be investigated

A poor academy

A good manager sorts out the training ground crap as well

We simply can't just release everyone, no matter what. It's too much work to try and rebuild what we've already lost, let alone loads more.

Which highlights the importance of making the right decisions. Do you have any faith that this will happen?

Us.

Southampton will be a little too nice and inexperienced.

Leeds will be better but need a new spine.

Granted this is all reliant on appointments and recruitment but I think the other 23 clubs fear us more than Soton/Leeds

Depends on how quickly we get our act together.

We should already have our manager lined up and and be targeting and talking to around 25 players and we might land few of them.

In the way we were decisive and got Brendan in we need to be brave again and go for it.

Don't get why people are backing Saints? Their players were woeful lacked so much quality and they've now gone and appointed Brendan lite as manager. I think they'll be lucky to get top 10.

Leeds could do damage with the right appointment and we should be aiming to win the thing.

I predict

1. Mboro

2. Leicester

3. Millwall

4. WBA

5. Leeds

6. Ipswich

Southampton and Leeds fans also believe that the other two teams to them have more chance of going straight back up. Every year the relegated teams think they’re the biggest disaster to ever go down.

Its almost as if emotive fans can’t actually look at it objectively.

Burnley were in a not dissimilar situation to us last year and absolutely pissed it. Sheffield United were mostly comfortable all season with practically no investment, huge ownership uncertainty and then a transfer embargo. Lots of decisions to get right, examples of it going horribly wrong in the past so lots of work to do and it’s a big 10 weeks but the ‘I can be more miserable than you’ brigade is rather jarring. Hopefully once things start happening and come August people will have a bit more hope
