We sort a deal in the week he is off and he joins us just in time to start against Northampton So like last season he'll start all pre season and then Ward will be No1 😞
coolhandfox Posted 2 July 2023 Posted 2 July 2023 Get him in, him and Iversen battle out for number one. Send Ward out on loan.

Think he was saying that Madueke was pretty much done but it turned out was never close. Correct me if I am wrong on that though. Just one of the ones that sticks out for me

I’d still rather we sold him to another Championship side though so that he can kick start his career again. and kick it us or out for a throw when we play his new team

Man City would be more than happy with that as Trafford is only 20 years old and in a team hopefully with the right footballing philosophy with the previous Enzo connection. Like I've said previously. Trafford will be a far better keeper than Steffen either in a purchase or loan capacity. Steffen is injured and won't be able to hit the ground running until at least November/December. great idea loan a player for 2 season have him become a key member of the side to lose him for nothing at the end of that, the only loans we should be staking are ones where we have a set fee to buy the player 1

Mike1983 Posted 2 July 2023 Posted 2 July 2023 I wonder if Iversen would stick around should we sign this lad?

If he stays for another year on loan once in prem and keeps you up that is absolutely terrific value. We'd be in a stronger position after that to a) buy him b) find another keeper.

Trafford isn't going to be so much better than Iversen, who last time he played at this level was one of the best in the league, enough to justify a loan, if its a loan with a permanent option at the end of it then fine 2

Salieri Posted 2 July 2023 Posted 2 July 2023 4 games into the tournament and still yet to concede, looks the business. I’d definitely take him, even if it had to be just a loan.
hackneyfox Posted 2 July 2023 Posted 2 July 2023 When was the last time we had a goalie who could play. It out Telefonica the back or launch it long without 50% of them going out for a throw in? No surprise to me that Stowell has left.
winteriscoming Posted 2 July 2023 Posted 2 July 2023 Imo it’s harsh on Iversen if we get another keeper in. Should be given the start of next season. I’ll agree he needs to improve his distribution but that’s about it. 1

Don’t think that’ll be good enough for Enzo.

But if the whole philosophy of how the new manager wants us to play is based around a keeper who can play out from the back, then Iversen is not going to be right for us. We need more than just a decent shot stopper. 1

When that weak part is likely the key aspect the manager wants from his keepers though it goes from being a minor issue to a major one It could throw off the entire way Maresca wants us to play if Iversen isn't able to be comfortable with the ball

As others have stated, being more than competent with his feet looks like it might be deal breaker and the video @StriderHiryu posted about the WM highlights this exceptionally well 1 1
