Just a quick reminder before we get too excited our previous loans from man city haven't gone always as we would have hoped, Ryan Mcgiven, Ben Mee and Michael Johnson 👀

Ben Mee subsequently starring for Brentford.

Gotta side with Bert on this unless you've concrete evidence to the contrary, Ric. Doesn't make sense that there wouldn't at least be an option if they were content to sell.

I'm only going on what we were told and that they are more than happy to sell their young players if the price is nice. They don't tend to agree to options to buy, what's really in it for them? They like to get a decent fee with add ons and possible sell on clauses and buy back clauses.

We've either not been willing to pay the inflated fee they'd want for a player of his experience and potential or they've had a change of heart. The fact they're willing to sell James Trafford suggests its more likely to be the former.

They were open to selling him this summer, think this tells us what we need to know about our finances. Annoying, but it is what it is. Don't mind a few loans.

It might tell us that we intend to invest more in experience than in promise. I hope that's not the case. It would mean we hadn't learnt from our own failures and successes at this level for a start. But there's time yet.

However the lack of faith in our owners - the fact that, when I've asked myself, 'do they know what they're doing here?' the answer has been, for years now, 'no, clearly not' - leads to a few doubts!

Hope he has a massive season, we get promoted and we can try and do a permanent deal then, but accept he may then be out of our price range / he has other offers.

Oh Mcgivern, what a signing he was! Ben Mee getting sent off on his debut (if memory serves me well, which mostly doesn't) and Johnson, well...no comment.

It doesn't. He wasn't sent off. Gave penalty away.

Ben Mee was good for us in his loan spell.

He was. I remember that for his height he had a great spring in his jumping and more often than not got to the ball ahead of taller forwards. He's had a very solid career and a sensible bloke as well.

God damn it! I remember the clumsy challenge in the box. I thought he got sent off! I'm getting old

another thing i can think of regards not buying, would be the fact hes a left sided defender and english too(which are very rare), which they could well need in the future, so maybe City had a change of heart during negations

This will be a cracking signing , young and exciting player, shame it’s just on loan and not permanent, my take on it is we wanted the perm deal but Man City clearly rate him highly and therefore not prepared to let him go on a permanent at this stage, they rate him highly.

This is the kind of signings we made under Pearson as well, transfer dealings so far have been very positive

Id say it could mean that we couldn’t agree on the buy back price..

I'm happy with this.

We can't keep spending money when we don't have much to spend. We should be loaning players, especially if they're likely on lower salaries at their parent club. He has a higher ceiling than most and it could be that the ceiling may be hit for him if we don't get promoted, he might have only agreed to a loan, we just don't know.

The fact we're going after a young CB should fill you all with confidence anyway, but as per usual the doom and gloom team of "REEE WHY WE SPENDING MONEY ON EXPERIENCE LIKE COADY AND WINKS FROM THE PL" think we can just stack the squad full of expensive youth players from other teams. How often do Man City sell to a championship club?

Calm you tits, get behind the player and the signing it's a really good deal!

Some people might also remember how we got promoted last time (scouting young players at all levels, and signing them for modest fees), and how we failed the time before that (lots of loanees and experience). They might also remember what happened next (mid-table survival, then title winners), as opposed to what's happened next when most sides packed with loanees and veterans go up. But they don't usually go up anyway, so perhaps that'll never be an issue.

Basically, I have no idea what you're on about here!

...if you claim to be ITK, then you are stating that the information imparted is valid and will come to fruition!!!

It is a big responsibility to take on, most will hang on your every word and would be right to do so because he has stated the information to be true. Things do happen and change during negotiation between clubs, we have to understand that and make allowance for this.

I understand the concept of ITK.

I also understand that there are certain posters who claim to be in the know when in reality, they don't know any more than I do. Most regulars on here have been on here for some time, if they are continously being drawn in by the same BS from the same posters again and again then it's really on them.

End of the day, whether it's a fake ITK or wether it's someone who I think is generally reliable, I don't pay to much mind to what is said. Whether that information happens, falls through or was nonsense from the start, it affects my life in the same way..... Not at all.

Or we just didn't agree with Man City price tag.

If we only have 1 more Man City loan avalible after Doyle i'll have the right royal hump if it's Steffen on loan.

Surely we need to be aiming for more front footed players than another effin keeper who i'm not convinced by.

Best news since Rodgers persuaded Southampton to part with Vesty.  Come on you Foxes.  More cash now for the recruitment Team 👍
