There was a moment last night that perfectly captured the ridiculous cuckoldry among a large portion of our fanbase…

Winks, having had every touch in his half time warm up booed and had numerous renditions of ‘what a w4nker’ directed at him, barrels over to the SK1 corner to take a corner.

You then have a quite ridiculous scene where the singing section are directing more ‘w4nker’ chants at him and both sides just out of the singing section in SK2 and the East Stand rise as one to give him a standing ovation.

Thank fvck for the summer because I cannot bear to share the same stadium as these braindead cultists anymore, it’s almost more depressing than the state of the Club in general.

There isn't room for both of us. We need an alternative club.

But, it was obvious that would be the case and why he shouldn’t have been in the squad.

I did wonder if he should have been looked to get rid of him after the ‘we miss you Enzo’ sign. With hindsight now we absolutely should have done.

Id have gotten rid of him that January window after that sign too.

I think for the manager he couldn't win really. He brings him on, hes a villain.. he leaves him out and hes a villain.

Technically hes the best player.. and when he can on he was the best player on the pitch in my opinion so I think it was the right sub.. I just cant stand him

I just think for most of the game the fans were spot on, behind the team and left the protests and booing until after the game in the most part.. I think had they done the same with Winks we mightve been more settled

That being said though, we have conceded goals like that all season.. one earlier in the match so im probably wrong and itd have happened anyway and I do think Winks is a rat.

I hope.. for the next two games we drops all the players that wont be here next year and gives those places to the U21s.. although id include James against Millwall and let him take his plaudits when they sub him off. Other than that, no sentimentality

Was he? What did he actually do. Performance dipped as soon as he came on, he gave the ball away several times.

Had a decent match yesterday. He's only singled out because he's the highest paid player in the Championship, and for his attitude. He should send his agent a case of champagne every Christmas. Not his fault Rudkin is a moron; and the Chairman is a fool.

He is technically the best though? I thought he might be at one time, but on reflection his shooting is poor ( again last night he wasted an attacking move when we needed a winning goal by a poor shot from distance) , he rarely tackles, doesn’t win headers, can’t sustain high energy over 90 minutes, doesn’t dribble. He does have good control and first touch, usually finds a pass out of a tight space but rarely produces a defence splitting pass.

I’d say JJ is better technically and all round.

(Oh, and last night he failed again with a half hearted effort to stop the pass into our box for their equaliser).

And, a bit like Vestergaard, he tends to always slow the game down when most other teams seem to do well using lots of pace and intensity. I remember a home game a while back, when Aluko got some minutes and made a decent run that i think led to a corner. Winks came running over and did his 'slow down' motion with his hands. I remember thinking 'nah Winks, prefer what Aluko was doing over what you dish up'. Of course, we barely saw Aluko again.

His contract is up in 2027 right? Hopefully the past few days have been enough for him to push for a move.

He's got Wrexham move written all over him i think. About the only club that could offer the wages and may be interested

We found out that we are still paying some of Coadys wages. Gonna be the same with Winks.

It’s alright having the talent but if you do nothing with it then you may as well not have it? What the hell has Winks done to warrant being in the side, other than this mythical talent we haven’t seen all season? He comes on as a sub and we more often than not concede within 10 minutes, even earlier than that last night. Awful. Get him gone.

Problem is who’s going to take them when they are on good wages and won't get that elsewhere? Also seeing hoe pathetic we've been can't see any takers.

Part of any fee for them could cover their remaining wages. It would leave the club with minimal cash to use but it would rid them of monthly wages. It’s easier with those who have a year in Winks, Vesty, Reid. More complicated with the likes of Skipp, Okoli etc

Everyone has different opinions but this is 100% for sure none of those players (bar james) deserve our gratitude or appreciation..

Absolutely cringeworthy anyone should expect a fan to go along with this self destruction

This is not about showing gratitude, it’s just not booing one of our players during a game that we are trying and need to win.

Point still stands mate. Booing one of your own players during a match has never been a good thing. Whatever level, whatever stakes are being played for.

Btw my head isn’t in the sand. I criticise the team. I think Winks has been an embarrassment to his profession considering he’s fallen out with almost every manager. But whilst this was the longest shot, a win would’ve kept the season alive and we were one goal away from that. I’m just stating a fact.

You don’t know this. Some players respond well to negative feedback. Maybe a bit of anger/emotion in him would actually help him to put a shift in. Maybe, had he not been booed, we would have lost. Maybe had he been booed more earlier in the season we wouldn’t have got relegated.

You don’t know anything, same way I don’t. None of this stuff is facts. He got booed because he’s a *****, end of.

Using your logic (and of course, not just yours), applauding and cheering on players automatically means they play better.

Which is a fallacy in itself.

It was about time that these players realize what they've "achieved". And that fans aren't that gullible and naively super-supportive all the time.

If you can't take criticism as a football player, you better seek a career elsewhere.

For the money these players earn (in a very loose sense), they've been extremely cuddled and shielded from negative feedback in the past few years.

Booing is part of receiving a healthy dose of reality.

I've heard of clubs loaning out players and paying half the wage still, does it ever go higher like 70-80%. Just thinking a promoted Millwall might be a good fit, we pay 70% of the wage and still save money. Or does that mess up the amortisation figures? We'd be a player short but Braybrooke & Page with regretfully Hamza and Skipp should be enough? Don't think 4 yard passes will get us out of that league anyway.

Ricky P deserves a decent send off too, he was pure class for us once upon a time and it's not fault he has no legs now. He should play and be subbed off so people can applaud him.
