How long does he have left on his contract? He definitely bottled it yesterday so shouldn’t be anywhere near a GR team but our options are limited in that position.

It's a moot point when he is constantly injured anyway.

I watched the extended highlights yesterday and Thomas was involved in most of our best attacking moments, which gets overlooked because of his marking for their equaliser.

I’d cancel his contract now. Absolute waste of money, im sure there is a pattern of him going off injured when the going gets tough too

Offers nothing, crap defender and always injured. Take the hit now and free up wages, rather than waiting a few years for him to walk for free

How would it free up wages? if they cancel.his contract will have to pay him up in full

I've said it before, he's like a player you started with in Pro Evo master league - absolutely average at everything (at best). I think we overpaid by about £10m and is agree with the point that when the going gets tough, the victor gets injured.

To think we signed him to keep us in the PL 😜

I don't get why Luke is being blamed for the equaliser. He did his job- covering the CB. Mavididi can't be everywhere either.

The issue was the CBs both missing the flight of the ball and not getting into a position to deal with the danger at the back post. Something both Okoli and Nelson need to work on big time.

On another note we have conceded goal after goal like yesterdays for a long time now. Last season we were overloaded and the full backs were constantly called out. The same again this season. To not address this is a major failure of the club. I might be in the minority but I don't think the issue is the quality of the full backs either.

That said, I'd rather we persist with Luke Thomas than turn to Kristenson. I think Thomas is a better player and you can't fault his fight. He looks like he is trying to hard and then has the weight of Leicester on his shoulders. His header at the other end of the pitch sums his season up.

Kristenson can't attack. A lot of our attacks break down when he is involved. Therefore he has to be a fantastic defender in order to play and I don't think he is. His injury record is poor and his refusal to play for Enzo was ridiculous. That said Luke Thomas was shipped out on loan that season too so what do I know!

Theres every chance you can negotiate to end it earlier which would save the club in the long run

Its something the entire back 5 need to work on with how frequently it happens.

Thomas is the experienced player on that left side, him and Begovic should me screaming this

A good manager will organise his back 5 by assessing individuals strength and weakness regardless of how difficult this season has been. Sunderland were a mediocre Championship team not so long ago but they are so well organised and fired up now. We'll see if Gary is a good manager.

Find me an example of a player on probably 40k a week with 2 years left agreeing to having there contract cancelled.

Sums up how shockingly poor our recruitment has become, epitomises the weak mentality of so many of our signings over the last 5 years and the lack of due diligence or research we carry out in terms of personality, character and background.

our recruitment has become so stale and lazy.

I'm still laughing at our lot singing "he's had enough" to VK when he went down yesterday.

He is massively worse than Luke Thomas. At least LT looks like he cares.
