Anyway else seriously worried that we have fans arguing who is best Kristiansen or Thomas? (by who is best I mean who is worst - would either get in another Championship team?)

The fact that this is our left back choice is a serious problem and the club chose to give one a 4 year contract and has been unable to get rid of the other. No matter which we pick they will both play a stinker every single time

Many think Aluko is the magic answer - although considering he is a Right Back mainly, never played a professional league game and will have no support from the winger in front of him (one of which may be a 16 year old) I'm not so sure - although I doubt he could do any worse - I don't think it is best for his development

He creates nothing when he goes forward. Passes either sideways or backwards. When he does cross, he invariably doesn’t get past the first man. Defensively he’s fragile. He tackles like a powder puff. All in all, in my opinion he’s useless and shouldn’t be near the team. Neither should Thomas.

I don’t disagree.

Quite telling that Bologna don’t take the option on him for €12m.

Aluko has the athleticism to carry the ball up the pitch which the other two dont.

In pre season we scored a couple goals from Aluko driving us up the pitch and making runs into the box and he was playing centreback at that time.

We definitely need that athleticism in the team in the fullback position, surely getting first team minutes is better for his development rather than rotting in the u21s playing with players worse than him.

Also got a couple of goals in the pl2. After his showing at CB in preseason and his ability to play across the whole of the backline it's a bit disappointing he's not been given more of a shot at the senior side. He's been an unused sub twice.  That's it.

He has played forty-nine matches for the Foxes in all competitions. He received only 3 yellow cards (not a badge of honor for a defender who really wants to stop his opponent from scoring or passing for a goal). He has scored no goals, and gave a whopping 2 assists in forty-nine matches.  This is, by any stretch of imagination, dismal.

In 23/24 he played 2,312 minutes across 32 appearances (an average of 72.5 minutes per game) for a Bologna side that finished 5th in Series A and qualified for the Champions League under the stewardship of Thiago Motta.

The world, clearly, is upside down because he clearly hasn't passed the eye test here. Are we just cursed? Did Thiago Motta raise his game? Did better players make him play better? Was it just a better team environment?

I'm at a loss to explain it. I'm convinced he's better than Thomas yet they both look as bad as each other at the moment.

Did they sign him? After 10 games they are currently 4 points from top spot. Seems like he wasn't the reason why they ended up 5th. If the rest of the squad is made up of relatively better players then he can be made to look better than he is - but clearly they didnt like him enough to keep him.

Best part of that is Soumare has played 106 from centre midfield, scored no goals and got the same amount of assists. lol

Add Danny Simpson into this team and we would complain he doesnt offer enough going forwards yet we won the league with him (obviously Simpson is far better defensively than Kristiansen). Sometimes players who arent great indivually can be part of a good team and the inverse can happen and great players can be part of a bad team.

He's always been poor, if he was actually an important part of Bologna's success that season they would have made a serious effort to keep him.

But can he, as a kid, do his main job, that’s defend! It’s no good being athletic and running forward if you can’t get back and do your main job because with either a 16yr old or Mavadidi in front of him, it could be a recipe for disaster. I don’t think this manager, or the last, if he was genuinely the next best thing compared with what we’ve got, wouldn’t have tried him. Just because our senior pro’s are crap doesn’t suddenly mean that kids with experience of playing only low level academy football are suddenly going to hit the heights out of nowhere against seasoned professionals, particularly when coaches and management watch them every day and professionally gauge what level they’re actually at.

Remember the days when you'd be gutted to find out a player had an injury...

Just need a few others to pick up fake injuries now.

Isn't 't Aluko used to playing behind Monga? If so, that makes it even more compelling to play him.

Being asked to choose between Thomas and Kristiansen is like being asked whether you want step in cat shit or dog shit. They’re both horrendous.

God knows what happened to Thomas because he looked like a great prospect when he first came in to the side.

He missed 4 games for them in the entire season,  and started and played the whole game most of the time. Doesn't strike me as someone they didn't fancy.

Between him And Thomas they’ll 46 games between them this season.

If they were both on loan to us and available to purchase at the end of the season for €11,000,000, wouldn’t take either! You’d look to spend less money and shop elsewhere.

He obviously wasn't poor at Copenhagen. But his price was far, far too high. If we had spent €4-5m for him, people would maybe have felt he was worth the gamble. But this place was already toxic when he joined, and it's only gotten worse.

It's a shame we couldn't shift him when his stock was still fairly high, but he (and we) are victims of FFP here - making the price we paid completely unacceptable.
