All the attacking lads, bar say Bobby, are greedy as feck. And regularly run possession into the oppos hands. They just dont link with others very well. Certainly not consistently. Mavs ignored runs by Thomas and Skipp multiple times last night. And the run 10 mins from the end with overlapping runners was beyond infuriating. Ignored them and ran into two CB. What a plonker!

Why oh why, when Fatawu and Mavadidi are having poor games, which has been frequently as we’ve been worked out, don’t they switch to their natural sides. Just tell them to get half a yard and whip it in, if striker and midfielder’s know it’s coming in they’ll move. Fatawu’s pace will drive him past any right back in this league, but with the absence of a high 8 alongside him on the right as an option as in Enzo’s system, he just runs into traffic, as does Mav on the left. Obviously under this bloke we have no system or idea. All the managers after Enzo said they’d set up like him, none have.

At times they'd be in good positions to cross but there's no one in the box, even our mightly and graceful #9 that is Jordan Ayew

I think you have to consider Fatawu needs a little protection after his ACL last year.

In Stephy’s defence, Monga and Silko actually cut off the passing lines.

 

For some bizarre reason, they didn’t run into space and made it more congested.

 

Another reason that I’m so anti Marti, he doesn’t seem to coach any players/patterns of play.

He was really, really poor last night…. There was a moment late on where Monga was completely free on the left, and the pass was on to play him in, yet mav decided to fumble his way through the Derby defenders and then shoot….

 

Completely waste. This team is so badly coached it’s painful.

Totally agree with a few earlier posts that Mavididi is a very poor player this season offensively & defensively, if he receives a pass all defenders know he wants to get it on his right foot asap and they stop him as he just runs into them, his passing is woeful and he rarely gets back to cover for Luke Thomas when he bombs on, also agree that him and Fatawu should alternate sides…

Final thing is why don’t they play Mavididi as the main striker as the totally inept Ayew spends 80% of his time on the pitch behind our wingers, we just look & play crap in the final 3rd and it’s only our midfielders who  score our goals…

I played wide left, and was told get to the byline and whip it in with quality, if there’s nobody there you’ve done your job. But I take your point, though a ball bending away gives attackers more chance.

I know Monga hasn't been amazing when he's come on but he should absolutely be ahead of Mavididi now. Crap performance, one after another should mean he's benched for 5-10 games minimum.
