Was thinking about this yesterday and it may be a coincidence but the drop off in Jakubs form is since the new goalkeeping coach has come in. His he being coached and asked to do things differently for example punch more than catch crosses, handle the ball differently, take up slightly different positioning and a bit like golf, these subtle changes, rather than help gain a % it has actually had the opposite effect.

Jakub was flying earlier in the season, his shot stopping in the main was excellent  and his ability to command his area and deal work crosses was very rarely in doubt, now fast forward and the arrival of the new goalkeeping coach and he looks very different in his approach to what looked his natural style.

It's since his injury

He was injured on 4th November and the goalkeeper coach joined at the beginning of October so it could also be attributed to the change in coaching and possibly that he is being asked to do certain things differently.

He’s only just turned 25 and he hasn’t played behind a stable backline.

I think he’s a decent keeper in the same

way that Chris Kirkland was.  He’ll have a good career but he won’t be a Kasper.

Jakub, Nelson, Monga, Evans will all be decent enough, but without good quality around them, they’ll never raise their game up beyond average.

Or his injury.

Not saying you're wrong per se, just putting it out there.

anyone blaming jakub for our predicament needs a long hard look at themselves. he is a perfectly competent championship keeper. Sure he makes mistakes but we are in the championship - this is how they perform

7, yeah 7 people agreed with this comment by the way.

Couldn’t punch his way out of a wet paper bag this joker. Needs a spell on the bench

But but but play the academy players!

It’s not about that. It’s about developing assets.

I’d rather we actually coached Stolarcryk to improve and not make these mistakes but it seems the club don’t give a f*** about coaching which leaves the easiest option being to toss these players on the scrap heap.

ah I see the thick reactionaries will be out in great force today. Look no one is saying he is the next Petr Czech  but with a shakey back four in front of him and the supposedly senior CB giving the ball away for them to score in the first half, its not really super suprising his confidence is super low

He's got his own fan club in here making excuses for his constant howlers. Running out and clattering Okoli, punching thin air at every corner, and then standing like a statue to allow Watford to score. His head seems all over the place.

Hes an absolute liability, genuinely amongst the worst of our crop of horrendous players.

Its every week now.

I think we should be utilising academy players as we probably won’t have money to spend and will be a championship club for years to come.

I also think Stolarczyk isn’t the answer.

I hate how weird the discourse around the academy has become on here

With a back four unable to do the basics, a lightweight midfield that just gets run through every week and an attack that genuinley cant create chances - Jakub is not the biggest problem
