TBF Chelsea are going to win that and the Europa league is a big thing but yes certainly will need to be better in the league .

As for Man U - guess they will panic buy again now ?

Have to debate that one.  Spurs beat Bodo/Glimt in the semi final (a team that I had Google to spell correctly).  Once the format changed and the CL teams no longer dropped down to the Europa (something I agree with btw) it devalued it big time.

True they probably did get fortunate with the draw and actually performing well .

Seems Spurs defended better in Europe than they do in the league but again a better team probably would have credited more v them .

I hope I'm wrong but we are edging towards owners lifting trophies in football instead of the captains.

When we won the title our owners paraded around the pitch with the trophy as though they had won it single handedly.

A title won by King Power's manager and players largely signed with King Power's money.

Did you really not expect them to claim their share of the glory? 🙄

Agreed, it’s become a second rate competition and only marginally better than the conference league. Only four teams in this year’s Europa league finished in the top 5 of the big 5 leagues.

Who on earth were they asking? The Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Man City and West Ham results on this are nonsense. How are Everton's 100% Spurs but Liverpool's not? The Chelsea result is just complete tripe.

Be Cockneyscousers I’d have thought

Pretty comical final capped off by a comical scrappy goal. Like Johnson said he didn’t care how the ball went in as long as it went in. The Bilbao stadium is awesome though! Probably way too good to be hosting such a sub par contest.

Shit final played out by 2 shit teams.

If the bottom 3 weren't as bad as they were these fuvkers could have been in a proper scrap for relegation.

I know quite a few Spurs fans having lived in Bucks for over 20 years - they're not bad lads really.

A couple of them were in Bilbao last night and sent me clips of the scenes at full time. The absolute joy on their faces reminded me of when we've won silverware over the years.

Can't begrudge them really, they've waited years for this and suffered a shit load of abuse over that time.

Let them have their moment in the sun and 15 minutes of fame.

Difference between how these 2 teams embraced their owners Levy and Jim R compared to the Palace players with Parrish.

Literally 0 love to either from any of the players.

Speaks volumes.

Well yes they did a win a trophy, the European equivalent of the Zenith Data Cup. However, they are also going to finish 16th or 17th and may not reach 40 points, which in most other seasons would mean they were in a relegation battle.  I will try  not to envy them too much. 😂

Didn't realise the zenith delta cup got you into the champions league and the chance to win another trophy in the super cup. But yeah you keep thinking the finishing second trophy is better than an actual one mate.

You wouldn't have celebrated winning it in 2019 then if you'd have shown up against Chelsea?

AT the end of the day Spurs have won a European Trophy.

No one will remember they were 16th or 17th.

Arsenal done a bottle job AGAIN and won feck all!! (Unless you win a celebratory plaque for finishing 2nd in which case they will be the kings of 2nd!)

Yeah this annoyed me the most about the day, Vichai walking around with the Trophy like he bought it (I suppose you could argue his money did)

Does anyone know if ange was asked this ?  He’s excused their dreadful PL campaign in a defensive context by saying ‘it’s who we are’. Yet last night (and in Frankfurt) they defended for pretty much the whole game to get a result.

Spurs are genuinely quite likeable, especially for their size as well which is quite rare these days

That Brazilian pigeon for spurs is going to be unbearable now as well his ego was already bigger than it should be.
Ah well let tyek have their day and maybe next season they can get relegated 😂

Thought Jonathan Wilson's piece made a really good point: we've all been assuming Utd and Spurs are 16th and 17th in the league partly due to focussing on Europa. But last night looked like 16th vs 17th.

Huge summer for both.
