Well it wasn't a red in the first place, so this is pretty dumb

Lads just putting in a challenge and the ref has given a red to balance up his questionable pen decision.

As others has said, we expected a red but definitely expected it to be more deserving lol

Young lads make mistakes, they 'hopefully' learn. Dont think i blame him for the passion, its really nice to see tbh. But mistakes will happen.

On another day, and a diff ref and it would have been a yellow... Tis what it is.

No questionable penalty, uncontrolled foot high and studs showing,

Penalty all day, everyday and in your aunties parlour

AND Fatawu, dived in off the ground landing & taking the guy out, no mitigating circumstances Red in anyone's book..

Let's not try and soften the blow, by using some innocent bias argument.

Both players got it so wrong. At the time both initial calls were 100% correct.. Consequence of the first, at the spli descision time right, but only after scrutiny with various camera angles, also Red..

AND if because of some shady bias, some fans don't think so, then players will always have an out.

Me..!! Both these tackles have to stop, even when in the split 2nd they were not meant..

As @Suzie the Fox says young lads make poor decisions at times, clearly he got caught up in the emotion of the game, it was a poor tackle to make as it gave the referee a decision to make at a time when he was getting a lot of stick from the Cov fans over the penalty, the fact he didn’t take 10 seconds to gather his thoughts and then make the decision, instead issuing the card immediately said everything you needed to know about the referee.

The timing was terrible, just before half time gave Cov a massive boost and the opportunity to regroup and plan how to take numerical advantage. Hopefully Abdul will learn from this as he can be very rash when making tackles. I am just glad it wasn’t Casadei as he would have been absolutely vilified.

It was a red card every day of the week.

Stupid thing to do. But he’s young and he’ll learn from it.

I’m not sure it’s a red, but then again I’m judging that on the slow mo replay. At full speed it looks bad.

Red or not, it’s an idiotic thing to do just before half time when we’ve had a ‘contentious’ decision given for us. You just don’t do it.

He’ll learn, but it’s cost us and will carry on costing us for the next 3 matches.

I reckon everyone thought red immediately, it was an outrageous tackle at full speed, no where near the ball and slightly from beind. When you slow it down it wasn't as high as it first seemed but it's a defo red for me.

I suppose the point is, with no VAR, Fatawu gave the ref no choice.

In real time, which is all he had to judge it on, it’s a reckless challenge and a red card.

I agree… don’t blame the ref for that, blame the stupidity of the player

It's not a red card, but it's absolutely brainless to do that just after we've had a contentious decision go our way and to give him the option to even it up in his eyes. Ridiculous and now we see no benefit at all from him missing AFCON.

Pretty much. They were going nowhere and the ref was obviously going to be spineless enough to cave to crowd pressure (he already wasn't having a good game given he'd tackled Casadei to set up a cov attack like 5 minutes before the penalty), silly to give the chance to the ref to do that

so the tackle on KDH above the knee for our pen was a yellow then and not a red inconsistency by the ref.

It couldn't be a red because of the double jeopardy law.  That's what they said on the radio anyway.

Good on you lad but one player don’t make a team win or loose there are 11 of you and you win together and you loose together I for one enjoy your energy and commitment for our team. Keep up the good work because the focus will be elsewhere next game.

Agree not a red card but it was stupid to go flying in like that especially with a ref like that. We were seconds away from going into half time ffs
