Kind of humbling for him and his mates you'd hope.

That aside you've gotta question why McKenna is on the list, as favourite and Maresca isn't. Is it because "lucky" or not McKenna plays a more open, exciting style and more than anything, adaptable? :dunno:

I like Maresca, I like he's bought some passion and pride back to the club, got a tight-nit team, he's bought some feel good back, I have reservations and question marks over playing styles and adaptability at a higher level but it remains to be seen either way. I do feel some of our fans and 'friends in the media' (We've been there before...) do blow alot of smoke up his backside though.

Genuinely think the likes of McKenna, Martin and Rosenior are listed because they recruited a young British manager from the championship once before in Graham Potter

They’ve had a reported interest from the Guardian in McKenna for about five months Tbf. Generally if one of the broadsheets pushes it, there’s something in it

Great leadership from the Brighton owner/board in their decision making. We can only dream of having that level of competence.

I can see them going in for Potter. Why not.

Let’s hope Brighton mess up their new manager, nothing against them , just the more clubs not up to speed the better for us.

Seriously, this league we’re walking into is an utter mess from top to bottom. If we can get our shit together early I can see a comfortable survival even with points deductions

Remind me what Brighton have won with their level of competence.

Considering less than 15 years ago they were playing at an athletics track, I think Brighton have exceeded their expectations.

**Disclaimer**  I am not claiming that Brighton are the best club in the country and will be fighting for top 4 season after season BUT when look at their expenditure and trajectory, fair to say Bloom and the board are doing more right than wrong.

Can we say that for Top and co?

Recently would agree, as the relegation illustrates, but people love to quote Spurs as an example of winning sod all but claiming success compared to us, and you forgive Brighton wilfully for an example of the exact same. May be I got the wrong of the stick? Can we say that for Top and Co? Yes, probably but recognising they have seriously dropped the ball recently.

Did not know that, and that is interesting, as it feels destructive for Ipswich should it happen. Although Ipswich appear fairly canny too.

It’s a very well run club. Not like ours

They are. Very well run. The argument is that being well run does not cause much cheering in the stands, something we have witnessed in quite a bit in recent times.

Heard that they treat their supporters with value and put their needs first, unlike sometimes with LCFC.

Maybe, but they're a similar size to us and haven't won anything so not that great IMO.

Brighton have a trophy in their cabinet for ''well run club of the year'' should look nice alongside our Premier League and FA Cup.

It could be argued that were well run until Vichai sadly died. It would only be a fair comparison if Bloom were to depart for whatever reason, given how tightly he controls their operation.

This is what a lot of people miss, we achieved huge success on the field that Brighton fans could only dream of due to good planning and strategy. Brighton from Europe to an 11 place finished having had a terrible 2nd half of the season.  I like McKenna but he’s got his work cut out with a new squad in the best league in the world. Lots of well run clubs never achieve anything (if having built a nice ground counts 🤷‍♂️) just like Brighton.

While I hope we can change the way we’re run now, the gushing over Brighton is vomit inducing.

Its a club thats been in relegation form with 1 win in the last 10. A horrific drop in form and there is clearly something very wrong behind the scenes. DZ (probably rightly) has paid for it with his job, but we will find out exactly how well run they are next season.

At least the will start the season on 0 points we look like having a big minus by our name. It’s the management of the club that have got us in big trouble next season

I was one of Brighton's, but more directly Graham Potters critics over the years. The hype around them was ridiculous but the way they operate is admirable.

They always have the flexibility to make decisions without the finances dictating it. Whether that's selling a player at a loss or replacing a manager etc.

We are a case example of not being able to do such a thing and paid the price for it, excuse the pun.

I'm going to be really pissed off if Mckenna goes to Brighton and Potter goes to another club, then Enzo/We decide weeks after that we need to part ways and we start talking about which firefighter is going to get us out of this points deduction relegation scrap.
It would be typical Leicester City to let Potter and Mckenna go and we end up with Big Sam. (Though I don't think Potter would come here as I expect he will be wanted by bigger clubs)
If Enzo is going, GO NOW, if he's 100% committed, he needs to tell the board his demands or GO. We really can't afford to have the club held to ransom by b-rate journalists who are in with the boss. The club need to be flexible or ruthless, one of the two.

Did he? David Weir is technical director at Brighton, don’t think he has any links to McKenna. Don’t think Brighton have had a sporting director since Ashworth left.

McKenna actually coached with our youngsters for a while.

Seems more and more like this is going to happen. Feel bad for Ipswich, it’s going to be very, very difficult for them next season if the captain of their ship goes as looking by squad alone it’s going to be a struggle.
