Massive win tonight. The best side we have faced so far, and we were being dominated at times. Keith Stroud will not be welcomed back to Leicester with open arms anytime soon.

Taking nothing away from Sunderland, they were excellent tonight, and executed their gameplay superbly. Other teams will watch and take notes from this game.

But we had to show a different side of the Foxes tonight, and we came through it with three big points, which will be a psychological blow for those in the chasing pack. And to be honest, several golden chances were spurned by the likes of Iheanacho and Casadei, so we should have won by more.

Enzo will take pride in the win and how we got there, but he has now seen how we play with backs to the wall, and know well that we would be ripped apart in the Premier League.

We will not always have it our own way. But celebrate the win and learn some valuable lessons for the next game.

PS. Keith Stroud, get lost.

Outplayed for most of the game without them having too many clear cut chances, should've won by more.

3 more points..

Only let in 7 in 13 games shows we're able to with stand pressure.

Cesare had a good last hour, JJ, Vesty, Riccy and Winks were decent. Felt the rest were vacant but another game down and another win

Outplayed for most of the game....... what ???

First team that really tried to attack us at home. Fair play.

Never really felt threatened. I’m not sure who the MOTM was, but Casadei is certainly in with a shout.

I thought Casadei was miles off in the first half. Second half he was much better although God knows how he didn’t score his first chance.

I thought Winks was good again.. he’s class at this level. MOTM for me was their keeper by a mile

Good post and I agree.

Striker and CB will be the most important positions imo.

I love Nacho for his commitment and love of the club, but we don’t want to be starting next season with him as our main goal scorer.
But as I said, for now, enjoy the ride 👍

I think we’ll win this league with possibly a record points tally.

But what I saw tonight tells me that it won’t be because we are a particularly good side.
It’s primarily because the standard of the opposition in the Championship is pretty awful.

Sunderland tonight carved us open many times but could not hit a barn door. Claims that they were the best side we’ve played are true to an extent that they came and had a go. But in the final third they were woeful.

The summer will be interesting. This season, we are SO much better than the opposition that they might as well crown us champions now.

But boy, will we have to invest in the summer or it’ll be another very tough season I imagine.

But, for now, get your money on City getting 100 points for the season. The opposition this season are rubbish by comparison.

It brings me back to my belief that the top flight and the second tier are worlds apart and the gap just gets ever bigger.

I think this is spot on. The gap is huge.

The current squad would really struggle in the PL.

No need to worry about that yet though…we’ve got to enjoy this season!

The club will know they will need to invest pretty heavily if they want to survive, never mind compete next season.

Not sure i'm fully getting the sunderland love-in.  Yes  they worked hard and yes they moved the ball well on the transition, but final third they had nothing - i'd say they were similar to Cov.  Despite what they did create and the amount of the ball they had (and 13 shots isn't the most we've allowed this season), i felt that, at the weekend, swansea seemed much more likely to score.  Tonight, i just never felt for a minute that we were going to concede....

Anyway, I thought we played decent enough tonight and but for their keeper the game might have been over long before it got scrappy and a bit frantic towards the end.  Nice to see Casadei grow into the game. Biggest concern was how sloppy we were on the ball at times, especially second half - a few players dropping under 80% passing, and a shocking 59% for Mads. For me, Nacho just isn't right in this system, and worse, tonight, his work rate seemed really poor.

Horrible refereeing - I was terrified, last 20 minutes, that he'd 2nd yellow vestergaard for time wasting on those goal kicks.

Yeah, agree re their keeper.

I really meant our MOTM.

Not the prettiest win but important nonetheless. Winning ugly is crucial but even then we get the second early in the second half it's a comfortable win.

Love the work ethic of this team, noone is giving up and has their head down, even when they give it away.

I doubt they’ll be top 6. Top 6 will contain sides with a good standard striker.

Leeds will be second

Based on what I’ve seen so far, Leeds, Ipswich, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and one other maybe West Brom - not spectacular, but getting the job done make up the top 6.

I really think now Boro appear to have clicked they will be our biggest threat and I would tip them to go up in second.

We'd compete with the bottom 4.  A good 5 or 6 players off 16th upwards .. like you say.. not an issue right now

A tough 1-0 win on a cold-ish October night is the stuff of Champions.

Coldish night..!! I watched with no Wheelchair canopy, no wind protection, from my bed :dunno:...

This is the warmest ever last October week, N. European wide.

A REAL melt down on the forum..

Well done Sunderland.. But if I give them a shout...

It means again LCFC stood up honestly, skillfully to the challenge.. We could of ran away with it.. some clearer chances, but Sunderland did enough to squeeze a point, but we did more than enough on decent chance creation & count...

CASADEI, Justin, Vesty grew into the game... Nacho he should of buried Sunderland.. KdH, CASADEI, 2 wingers, opened up the goal for him..

He could well end up with 22+ goals, but 13 games gone, he should be now out of sight threatening the 30+ goals mark..

We have some players back, crazy point gap, why not throw Daka in this weekend.. MAKES Nacho think..!!

Gives Vard'y, room to recuperate longer, with an another 20-25 minute sub role.

Things werent going for us on our normal game plan, Sunderland played well.

I was happy Enzo has a plan B, let the team dribble and counter.

We not been right since the break but still keep winning which is a good sign.

Exciting times though, squad depth for this division is unreal.

Not really using Coady much yet, ndidi, yunus and mcateer out injured today.. Alves and Braybrooke to come in to the fold soon.. keep it going

I think you hit the nail on the head with the comment about work ethic.

This squad looks happy and so energetic!
My feeling is that if Sunderland HAD equalised early in the second half, we’d have just upped a gear and gone on to win.

This stems from confidence. The players know they are much better than the opposition this season and where Enzo is doing a brilliant job is not letting them get into cruise control too often. Instead they haven’t become blasé and are working hard.

Great management

I’ll have twenty with you now on Sunderland not making top 6 this season. PM me if you want to accept the bet

Best side we've faced this season yet.

They were lucky for us not to get a penalty. If not two though. They started to tire but that's because of how hard they worked.

They'll be play-offs at least this season.

Good game.

Gave us a good fight but we did it and that what counts.

We had enough to get more, they had the chances  but never looked like scoring.

Strange game. Sunderland are comfortably the best team we've played between both boxes but we've had enough great chances to have scored 3 or 4 and for all their good play, Sunderland created several decent chances rather than gilt edged. With a decent Championship level striker they'd be in the play offs guaranteed.

Main positive for me was Casadei. Looked much leaner and sharper than he has been and some of those bursting runs in the second half were really encouraging.
