Easily 2013/14.

This seasons side have already lost more games now with a little under a quarter of the season to go. It’s also looking a taller order for this side to even reach 100 points let alone exceed the 102 from 10 years ago.

People say this side was better because we have some top individuals but we had individuals 10 years ago who went on to achieve a lot more than these players now (except Vardy and Albrighton who have done it).

People point to some disappointing results against the likes of Doncaster and Charlton but how’s that different to Middlesbrough or QPR? The point being it was less frequent and we didn’t seem to have glaring weaknesses that we have now back then.

Imagine peak Nugent in this squad.. He'd be putting away all those missed chances in style!

Loved Nugent but didn't think he was always the greatest finisher.

He scored 20 goals in our promotion season, that's a very decent return. Some of his finishes were sublime, old school FIFA finesse finishes in real life!

True, he seemed to score harder chances more than easier ones. Thinking especially of his goal against Derby in 2012.

Think of you did a combined XI it would be 9 players from 13/14 and 2 from 23/24.

Ricardo for De Laet then one of Winks, KDH or Ndidi in for James (though Drinkwater would still be the first choice cm). The rest would be the 13/14 side.

Generous to Liam Moore.

Wasilewski was first choice alongside Morgan from memory but Moore played when Wasilewski was injured.

I'd have Wasilewski in for sure, he was also one of our best players the following season during the great escape season whereas Faes nor Vestegaard have never looked much good in the PL

I was thinking the same. Couldn't remember if he was the regular partner of Morgan or not, but fairly sure he played a lot.

Wasilewski appeared in one more game in the championship that season, although some appearances were at right back. Nonetheless, Moore getting injured against Middlesbrough when he collided with the post was a real blessing, Wasilewski helped us get over the line.

Started like 30 games that season, and much of the first half of the Prem season.

Moore played even either Wasilewski or De Laet were out mostly as Wasyl would shift to right back. It doesn’t matter so much anyway because it would definitely be Wasyl who be the choice from the 2 in the combined xi

Depends very much on whether the team are playing for Enzo in his way or Pearson in his.

Nige got players who would run through walls for him.

The team, the squad, the club(!) had some backbone back then.

We had worse runs under Pearson in literally every single season he was here I think. Just off top of my head we had a couple of shocking runs in league one before we picked up. We lost four on the bounce in that play off run next season. We had that awful collapse when we were top under him. Not to mention the first Premier League season before the great escape.

It's easy to say things like this because of the success that happened but he would admit himself he had 4-5 spells he could have been sacked because his team lost its way

Yes it beats Pearson’s team hands down. Largely because it has better players but also a more tactically astute manager.

That’s aged remarkably well. Failed to mention the positive that squad have in bucketloads over this bunch - real grit and desire

Pretty much the same squad that was 2nd after 30 games in 12/13 then won 1 in 13 and scrap into the PO?

The making of the squad was painful failure and the addition of a few wise heads.

Sometimes you have to get burnt to find that real grit and desire
