Only defence I can put up for him is that it must be hard knowing you are 2nd choice regardless of how well you do.

Vardy was the man. Now he’s gone there is a spot to have a chance of owning.

That really hasn’t been the case for probably half of the time Patson has been here.

Add it to the list, Ihanacho, Youri, Soyunchu, Bekovic, Perez, Praet, Silva, Slimani the sheer amount of money we have thrown away is disgusting, we will be adding Soumare and Daka to that list. Must be nearing 300m for that lot if you include wages.

Did you enjoy winning the FA Cup?

Not a debate on whether we enjoyed winning the fa cup with them, its that we allowed them to leave for nothing and that has compounded the reason we are in this psr mess.

I refuse to make the same mistake I did last time, when I thought Iheanacho would shine in the Championship and become our starting No.9...

Daka will be rubbish in the Championship. Sell and get in a new starting No.9

Whilst I am not a full on Daka basher this is a fair point/comparison. Both Nacho and Daka are frustrating players.

While Slimani did cost a lot of money upfront, and performance after a transfer isn’t always a given, I’d argue he was actually an example of shrewd economics after he was loaned out and we saved on wages. According to transfer market website we also got some loan fees. He always appeared to me to be a hard worker even though it didn’t work out that well for him here.

Err, no.

Seeing as Daka fans love stats a lot, let's have a look. Going by their Tranfermrkt stats:

Akimbiyi, 67 apps, 13 goals, 4917 minutes.

Daka, 120 apps, 23 goals, 5374 minutes.

So their goals to appearance ratio is exactly the same, Daka's goal per minute is better. But Akimbiyi didn't have the chance to stat pad against Moscow, Plymouth, Stoke etc. Going on PL goals only (seeing as Akimbiyi only played in the Prem for us), I'd suspect it would be even tighter.

Nip and tuck for me!

Err, no.

I’d say he is worse, Akinbiyi’s finishing was awful but it was highlighted by his pace, strength and movement being really good, meaning he got a lot of chances to miss, but there was a player in there.

Was never good enough,  thought he might come good after settling in but nope, the much maligned Nacho was a better player, at least he blew hot and very, very cold.

Yeah started 14 games scored in 5 of them,  4 goals in 14 games that didn’t include pens in a team smashing the league.

Watch out championship

23 goals, 4 of them in Moscow. He’s a 1 in 6 striker in the league. If he played all season he wouldn’t get double figures. How many more chances do we have to give him!

IF he can play the role well that the manager has for a striker and IF there is a lot of goals from elsewhere, then he could be seen as an asset. WHATEVER his goals per game/minute ratio is, he still scuffs shots and falls over a fair amount of times which is frustrating. If he got the shot toward goal and it was saved instead, he would probably get less stick from the fans. Maybe a chant of “oooh, you’re not Vardy” every time he misses will give him the confidence boost he needs.

personally I’d move him on and have a player upfront who can press better but I believe we would be better using any transfer money pot getting some younger players in at more defensive positions with the belief they can make the step up to the premier league. We have probably realistically got the goals coming from the wings next season if we keep maividi, monga, mcateer and fatawu.

Estimated book value of £4m or £5m this summer. Could be difficult to find a buyer, with 1 year left on his deal. Then factor in we have no other strikers (other than a 16 year old Jake Evans) and I think he'll be staying.

Im sure most would agree that he's been professional,  and im sure hes a nice bloke, but christ hes an embarrassment of a football player.

Hes got that bad, that im sure even the Zambian following have started to fade away.

My point is that footballers don't only exist to be sold. They both added value to the club while they were here, we paid, they signed contracts, they decided to see them out. It happens to all clubs at some point, Bayern got **** all for Lewa when he left but he'd scored a shit tonne of goals and won them trophies along the way.

I don't disagree with the general point, our management of contracts is poor and our signing of established footballers has been extremely wasteful post-title win.

But I wouldn't particularly use Tielemans or Iheanacho to make that point.

Whilst i agree with you that we did get their worth in regards to their output I dont really think you can compare Bayern letting go of Lewa to us letting them go, Bayern wern't/arn't financially constricted like us, the board knew we needed to sell players to sort this PSR issue and they didn't, I think Tielemans and Ihenacho are perfect examples of wasted revenue as at the time they we're worth alot of money due to their performances on the pitch. I can't think of any other club in the prem that has allowed so many to leave on frees as us, especially a club of our size.

Love the idea that if Akinbiyi had the chance to stay pad, he'd add 4 away in Moscow 😂

Scored more goals than Haaland when they played together. Greatest player to wear the shirt. Bound to get 30+ next season. Fantastic striker.
