I remember watching him in the community shield game and thinking this bloke is going to give us something in midfield that we had been lacking, then it just never happened, since Ruud has been in charge that player is emerging. Brilliant when he gets on the half turn, frustrating as hell when he doesn't and goes backwards but there's a player in there.

The three of him, Winks and BEK have some incredible link-up play.

They wouldn't look out of place in a side challenging for Europe, just a shame the defense is League One quality and the attack can't be relied upon

He looks good at times but still doesn't have the awareness to play in a two man midfield. We're the only side that would repeat the same mistakes with the same couple of players that got us relegated (Kristensen is another, Ward if not for the crowd), despite having a successful season in between where none of them played.

He's doing well!

Having Winks next to him definitely helps. He seems a lot more confident on the ball these days, and doesn't lose possession as regularly as he used to.

I never expected to type this about bouba as he has been disappointing for years but I love watching him play, he is so composed on the ball even with 3 men snapping round him. Can be very direct and athletic in possession too

Still only 25. Wouldn't be surprised to see a bigger club in for him next season especially one that plays out from the back trying to beat the press.

Very very decent performance today..

I think he's still just playing a bit within himself though. I think there's more there to tease out of him.  sometimes with his physique he can carry the ball 10-20, 30 yards and not just lay it off.

Keep it up though Bouba.

I also think he's playing within himself, even now when he's playing really well. When he bursts forward with the ball, players just bounce off him and he's very hard to stop given his excellent close control. Want to see him do this even more. He ran BEK a very close second for man of the match today. I'm becoming a big fan, I won't lie.

Dude, we see the game through the same eyes! I think you have said similar in the past. But yup, totally agree, as well as he's playing we haven't yet found his ceiling.

It was great having 2 technically good players in the double pivot today, with Soumaré and Winks both capable of receiving the ball under pressure, turning and playing the ball through the lines. Excited to see how their partnership develops over coming games.

Thought he was poor against Wolves and awful against Liverpool, but so was everyone else.

Much better today though, had a decent game.

He was good in the first half at Liverpool, I thought.

Having other ball playing midfielders around him like Winks, ElK, and Buonanotte really helps him and the midfield as a unit. 4 really  good footballlers. Ndidi is surely first cover now due to his deficiencies with the ball. Skipp remains way off it IMO.

Maybe it was the season at Seville

Cooper still had to take the punt putting him in the team. Not convinced Ruud would have come in and slotted him straight in if he had no gametime/frozen out the matchday squads this season
