StanSP Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Look forward to the clubs review into this whole debacle. And then the impending radio silence... 1
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Who knew giving the likes of Soumare an £80k a week contract, when he was previously on about £15k, was reckless? Its a shambles, but I’m not sold on FFP - it’s the closest the big six have come to ensuring their place in the football hierarchy in this country. Having said that for our club it looks reckless beyond belief. 2
when_you're_smiling Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Full statement. Leicester City is surprised at the actions the Premier League has taken today. The Club is extremely disappointed that the Premier League has chosen to charge LCFC now, despite the Club’s efforts to engage constructively with the Premier League in relation to the matters that are the subject of this charge, even though LCFC is not currently a Premier League club. LCFC remains willing and eager to engage constructively with the Premier League and the EFL to seek the proper resolution of any potential charges, by the right bodies, and at the right time. The Club continues to take careful advice about its position and, if necessary, will continue to defend itself from any unlawful acts by the football authorities, should they seek to exercise jurisdiction where they cannot do so, as occurred earlier this year. LCFC has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to the P&S rules through its operating model over a considerable period, achieving compliance while pursuing sporting ambitions that are entirely credible given the consistent success that the Club has achieved in that time, both domestically and in European competition. As we continue to represent the Club’s position, we will continue to fight for the right of all clubs to pursue their ambitions, particularly where these have been reasonably and fairly established through sustained sporting achievement. The Club thanks its supporters for their understanding in this matter and for their continued support for our team, whose success on the pitch during the final weeks of the season remains our primary focus.

Pliskin Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 To be fair, I think they may have ****ed themselves. I can see us wriggling out of this because of the EPL’s eagerness to drag us through the mud.
Nolucklcfc Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 We will end up employing Danny ward as lawyer to defend us.
Matt Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Conclusion of the review last summer? Plenty of back slapping. 1

Time for the club to form a class action lawsuit with other clubs and take these corrupt ***** on. This absolute farce cannot be allowed to continue. 7
Bilo Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Would we be able to claim that famously being the only Premier League club not to sign a player for actual money last season was mitigation? Also, when were the Barnes and Maddison deals concluded?

So the mitigation is that as we had a sustained period of high achieving, it was realistic that our earnings could've been more and that to comply wouldve meant sacrificing our place at the top table. Which, funnily enough, we ended up doing anyway by our manager playing a league 2 standard goalkeeper. 2
FoxesWalk Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Is there previous precedent of the premier league charging a club not in the league?

Matt Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Enzo, use your contacts with Man City and their lawyers. 1 1
moore_94 Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 (edited) Is this us basically trying to exploit another loophole again like we did with the EFL and the business case? ”we weren’t in your league when these rules applied so shove it” https://www.premierleague.com/news/3938339 Leicester City were relegated to the EFL Championship prior to the introduction of the Premier League’s new Standard Directions, which prescribe a timeline within which PSR cases should be heard. Therefore, the proceedings will be conducted in accordance with a timetable to be set by the independent Commission, and its final decision will be published on the Premier League’s website. Paninistickers Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Any punishment should be that Ward has to play 26 games. I defy any team outside of man city, arsenal and Liverpool to stay up with that sanction imposed. 1
Parker Pen Posted 21 March 2024 Posted 21 March 2024 Leeds and Southampton next I reckon! Everyone grassing everyone else up! 1
