pkonline Posted 6 March 2024 Posted 6 March 2024 With the extremes of revenue Premiership -> Championship, it's hard to imagine many teams not sticking the rules. The rules are silly and I do have some sympathy for the club - I am sure last season was something they did not anticipate because we had been a European challenging team and needed to spent to maintain that. Leicester isn't the first, or will be the last team, to be stung by financial rules. The bigger problem in football is the differences between the haves and have nots. 1

We have money and FFP doesn't include capital investment like ground expansion, training and academy spending. It's pretty much all about the player spend.
MancFox24 Posted 6 March 2024 Posted 6 March 2024 While this does seem to be a technicality, the important part for me from the ruling was where the EFL argued that we have not disputed that we will be in breach of the upper loss threshold for 23/24. I'm slightly confused about why we would be looking to make enemies of the EFL on a technicality while also trying to get them to be lenient on the substantive point

Dahnsouff Posted 6 March 2024 Posted 6 March 2024 When they reportedly said “We don’t want anymore Leicester City’s”, seems they actually said “We don’t want anymore Leicester City” 1
Popular Post UniFox21 Posted 6 March 2024 Popular Post Posted 6 March 2024 (edited) Dorsett explains this pretty well here. To summarise; EFL projections say we'll maybe fall outside regs, so wanted us to prove how we'll stay in. We said no, went to an independent panel and they agreed with us Edited 6 March 2024 by UniFox21 8 4

pkonline Posted 6 March 2024 Posted 6 March 2024 It's silly that the rules in the EFL aren't harmonised with the Premier League. That needs changing ASAP. If 6 clubs move into and out of each every season, this needs clearing up!! 2

Inter-fan spats & petty grudges help absolutely nobody, however right or wrong anyone turns out to be. Calling out pettiness is not the same as shouting someone down. coolhandfox Posted 6 March 2024 Posted 6 March 2024 Surprise, Surprise. More league rules that aren't fit for purpose. Governing bodies of both the PL and EFL are a joke.

Stevosevic Posted 6 March 2024 Posted 6 March 2024 Why are we so broke? Genuine question. Purely because we committed to a high wage bill over the last few years?

No, but peddling the "we'll be fine" line militantly, when there's a real possibility that we very much WON'T be fine, is more damaging imo.
Lesta2014 Posted 6 March 2024 Posted 6 March 2024 We are in a world of bother if we don’t go up arent we. go up and we need to stay up and give lower wages out and no doubt lean on the academy lads. Gunna be a tough ask whatever we do.
Popular Post SouthStandUpperTier Posted 6 March 2024 Popular Post Posted 6 March 2024 A business plan? What do they think this is? The Apprentice? I'm sure they could take a wild guess at what our business plan is. It's short and to the point......GET PROMOTED. 1 4

Fans peddling any line doesn't damage the club whatsoever - I think perhaps you and I disagree on this, we have far less influence on the goings on in the club than we might like to believe. On the other hand, if you're promoting the idea of fans being more vociferous in seeking positive change, then that's a different matter. Fine lines, maybe it's a matter of semantics. 5

FFP is gonna get us eventually
Corky Posted 6 March 2024 Posted 6 March 2024 We are getting whacked whatever happens, huge losses are predicted. Points are coming off whichever division we are in. 1
