AyewJoking Posted 6 June 2025 Posted 6 June 2025 Someone please think of Rangers fans, first Russell, now Coady. 1
TommyK Posted 7 June 2025 Posted 7 June 2025 Oh all our centerbacks that can't defend, why would Martin go for the one that also can't pass? I'd have thought Vestegaard would be better suited.
Claudio Fannieri Posted 7 June 2025 Posted 7 June 2025 Would be wonderful if we could move him on, book value of £2.5m, personally don’t think we will get much more but if we can break even and they cover all his wages than makes a lot of sense.

CrazyKopCorner Posted 7 June 2025 Posted 7 June 2025 Not the governor Coady - if this is Martins first signing it shows the devastating mastermind we missed out on - I’m seething
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 7 June 2025 Posted 7 June 2025 (edited) Big podcast #numbers to be had from Rangers dads, I can see the appeal. Edited 7 June 2025 by Sol thewall Bamba 1
Simonb Posted 8 June 2025 Posted 8 June 2025 Absolutely fantastic this is, if it comes off. Cannot stand the guy. Massive brown noser, always been an all mouth no action player.. will be the first player in the new managers office everytime we sign someone agreeing with everything he hears. Genuinely rather keep Vesty over Coady.. although in an ideal world they both go 4

Guest WarehamFox Posted 8 June 2025 Posted 8 June 2025 Will probably do well in Scotland, it’s like playing league 2 football. His level.
FrankieADZ Posted 8 June 2025 Posted 8 June 2025 please be true, get rid of Coady and get Harry Darling in on a free 1
Tielemans63 Posted 8 June 2025 Posted 8 June 2025 (edited) Dream scenario would be the club finally getting rid of Coady, Vestergaard and Faes. I think we're probably stuck with Vesty, but it would be good to get shot of the other two. You'd imagine he'd happily walk to Glasgow if they really are interested in him. It'll be a pathetic transfer fee, though you'd imagine. Edited 8 June 2025 by Tielemans63 1

Missed the boat due to how bloated we are in that position and the fact our owner and DoF haven’t started thinking about next season yet.

But getting wages down is the important thing. In certain cases, breaking even and getting wages off is fine. The alternative is they leave for free anyway and we have paid that years wages so what’s better?

As I say, a profit on all players would be ideal. However, given how many have walked for free, just getting wages off a year early or a small profit in some cases, is probably necessary for certain players to allow us to move to on.
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot Posted 9 June 2025 Posted 9 June 2025 Would be happy to see him leave. Similar to Matt Upson's tenure here - a player with some qualities but massively living off their reputation built when they were a younger player.
MPH Posted 9 June 2025 Posted 9 June 2025 The flipside of this coin is that if Russell Martin had become our manager, then Connor Coady would have been a nailed on starter 2
