Kristiansen is an obvious one around £10m.

plus Iversen and another squad player - should get us £15m+ and maybe take the pressure off to sell KDH

Trouble is, how many clubs are going to want to buy pre-July smack bang in the middle of the Euros

To make £10m on Kristiansen we'd need to sell for £20m-ish

This morning we’ve gone from Oscar  Garcia to Maurizio Sarri 😂

And probably back again.

VK is worth nothing to us re PSR - what we’ll get covers his amortised value so it’s a neutral sale

Well he's 21 and just spent the season starting regularly for a side that finished 5th in one of the major european leagues and has 4 years left on his contract... why shouldn't we get £20m-ish?

Tanner was on the LTID video yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8Na9wL-WaQ

He said:

1. The owners want to retain a ‘modern progressive, possession-based style’ with the new manager, they’re adopting a long-term philosophy

2. While PSR will be a consideration, the most important thing is finding the right person so they’ll pay the money if they need to

3. There is disappointment about Enzo leaving as the board thought he was staying and in it for the longer term but the lure of Chelsea was too much

4. The job is an attractive one, especially for a young manager wanting to prove themselves. As we know already, said the club have long admired Potter but the situation might not be right for him. He thinks Cooper will be considered but he said the club are still working through the target list.

Hmm.

If we can’t get Corberan, then I wouldn’t be surprised if we sound out Carrick.

Can see Henrik Rydstrom of Malmö being a possibility too.

Italian teams v.unlikely to cough up that sort of fee - you might get it from a side in the prem / or might have before PSR became such an issue.

I know lots of people seem to think we have a "strong squad" but we really don't.  Our strike force is Vardy (too old for a full game every week) Daka and Cannon.  We have two wingers (Mcateer isn't a PL winger).  We have a midfield of winks, KDH (Unless he's sold) and choudary.  Our centre backs are coady, faes, maybe vestegaard and soutarr.  Ben nelson might step up, who knows.  We have an ageing Ricky at RB and Justin at LB.  that doesn't scream even mid table.  Then what is the bench?? Unproven players in Alves and Braybook.  Stolarchyk who's never really played consistently, kristiansen who doesn't want to be here and soumare who has failed before.  We allegedly have very little money for signings either.  it's a relegation scrap at the very best even without a points deduction.

A bit ambitious, of course, but if the club want a young manager in who has strong potential - why not push for Mattias Jaissle from Saudi?..

Bologna have a €15m option on him and aren't interested at that price despite him having a very good season.

We'll be lucky to break even on him (got about £10m left on his amortised value)

Carrick is not a bad shout.

Funny that the most uttered comment about us  last season was "strongest team to ever play at this level"

Probably because they had him on loan due to the state of their finances.

2022: Lost €46.7 million

2021: Lost €30.9 million

2020: Lost €21.72 million

2019: Lost €4.8 million

2018: Lost €16 million

They can’t afford him.

Now we know why the club haven't released the new kits yet - we're waiting to sign Sarri so we can announce Nicorette as our new sponsor

Champions League winning put them about even overall then.

We aren't playing at the level anymore and we've also lost some squad depth in praet, kelechi and ndidi walking away.

A team can be better than the sum of its parts. Just because a team has done well collectively it doesn't mean an individual is worth a lot of money.

Plenty of examples just at our own club when you look at the league and cup wins.

Kristiansen is alright, decent prospect, but he's not a guaranteed thing. I'd personally be pretty uncomfortable if any club I supported was paying twenty million for him, let alone one in Italy where there isn't a lot of cash in the game.

Ben Chilwell was really just an alright, decent prospect in a team that was performing well, and we got £45m for him. Maybe we aren't realistically going to get £20m for him this summer, but unless we are getting that sort of offer I think it would make a lot more sense to try and reintegrate him than it would to sell him for £10-15m.
