Great signing for Palace

Envious of where Palace are at and more so where they're heading with a coach like Glasner.

Granted they may lose one or more of Guehi, Eze or Olise this summer, but they seem in capable hands at the moment...

Worth noting they'll also lose Glasner in a year or two lol

I believe or have dreamt it .... that a season ticket should be priced upon the league you are in ... or the position you finished the previous season  ... there should be a FFP ... fans fair price .... clubs should not put there short comings on how the club is run by its senior staff ... onto its fans .... I don't mind paying a price si long as its good value ....  not a Harrods carrier bag with Aldi food inside it

Fans 'appalled' by season-ticket increase

Wolves fans have spoken of being "appalled" and "let down" in light of season ticket price increases at Molineux.

On Thursday, the club published new prices for the 2024-25 campaign, with some sections of the ground subject to substantial rises.

BBC Radio WM presenter Daz Hale says the cost of his ticket has gone up 17%. Meanwhile, tickets for under-14s in the Billy Wright Upper have increased in price from £105 to £290, a rise of 176%.

The club were invited to comment on Hale's football phone-in on Thursday but declined.

On the Wolves website,, external owner Jeff Shi stressed commercial growth is "vital" for the club, adding: “We do listen to fan feedback, and we understand that price increases are unpopular, but our aim is to ensure our prices are neither significantly higher nor lower than our peers."

Supporter Ryan, from The Wolves Report podcast, said: "What a day. A sad day for Wolves supporters. It’s really hard to stomach for me, sitting in the North Bank with my elderly mother. A 17.6% rise from £625 to £735. These prices are just unrealistic. I cannot see how anybody can justify these prices.

"Between us, it looks like it will go up £240 to £250 for two season tickets. It’s not realistic or in touch with society or the state of the country.

"Crystal Palace finished 10th - a 0% increase. Aston Villa up 5% and they finished fourth with Champions League football. We finish 14th with no number nine all season and are asked to pay an extra 17.6%. And we are some of the lucky ones - some are paying an extra 40% depending on if their age range is going up.

"It is utterly disgusting what the club have done to the supporters."

Do you think the price rise is fair? Have you been impacted? Tell us here, external

'I want you to boycott it'

Daniel Warren from the Wolves 1877 Trust told the West Midlands Football Phone-In: "I’ve really struggled to comprehend what that ticketing increase has meant for me personally and loads of fans I talk to.

"For a lot of people they’ve been going 20 years and it has priced them out. They've said they aren’t doing it any more.

"I’m appalled. I don’t think the club have read the room.

"We looked as a trust at the benchmarking at all of the ticket prices. Wolves finished 13th for pricing, which is where we are in the league. This increase puts us way up in the top half.

"This is a regrettable position we have come to as a Trust. As the chair of the trust, I want you to boycott it. The only way they will listen is if there are empty seats in that stadium."

Makes me really angry seeing stuff like this when you consider Fortuna Dusseldorf (recently failed to get promoted to the Bundesliga via the promotion/relegation playoff) are aiming to achieve a model where all tickets for every game are free - and have already managed it for three games this season.

Of course they’re likely to stick. They’re either starting a season on -50 or being relegated to league two..

reckon the latter would be great fun to watch. Phil Foden and co steam rollering MK dons and Accrington Stanley et al

They're 28/1 to be relegated which, I'd say is decent odds.

Thanks. I now have a headache

Would be far better if these price increases only went on things that matter to fans like funding for safe standing areas, improving the facilities, ground upgrades, help towards expansion etc. I'd feel it was a useful cost increase.

Villa very much seem like a club that has a good, well-organised business model both on and off the pitch.

Haven’t they changed their (football operation) back office  management in last couple of years. Adding people like Monchi etc.

compare Villa to us….a year or two back we were top dogs, failed to replace Rodgers and Rudkin and we fell on our arse.

investment is not just needed in bricks and mortar e.g Seagrave.

point being whoever comes in as manager we should still look to enhance the football operation.

Seems that way … but even that business model survived only on a 1,000-1 stroke of incredible good fortune with a goal-line technology miscue.  Margins can be so fine for all but the richest clubs.

I'd drag my nose along hot broken glass in a straightjacket if it meant having Gasperini within 20 miles of the KP

Rudkin could do himself a huge favour on here.

Use Congerton to arrange a friendly at the KP.

I'm guessing they will sell more tickets to watch you than the game.

May even sell it to sky 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂 😹

PSR sorted and a few extra pound notes in the bank.

Fans are treated appallingly in this country. Fan culture has been pretty much completely erased. Unfortunately, English fans have just accepted it. Wolves fans will end up accepting this as would Leicester, Villa, West Brom fans (whoever). Fans abroad just wouldn't put up with this, they actually have the balls to boycott games and make life difficult for club owners. We just seem to bend over and ask for more punishment.

Shock they want to change sponsorship rules and also are against the rule that 14 clubs have to vote in favour for something to go through because it’s ’the Tyranny of the majority’ apparently.

**** off to the Super League you pricks.

This is potentially massive for the EPL.

This is what happens when you swim with piranhas.

Interesting. This feels quite a seismic threat to the Premier League. Also feels like no winners for the Everyman club.

Mega rich people don't like being told what to do, they'll keep chippy away at the premier league until it's exactly as they want, and screw the rest of us.

Bit ironic that City are claiming the rules are anti-competitive when they've won 4 titles in a row and 6 of the last 8.

On the one hand, what Manchester City seem to be proposing is removing strictures to financing which would surely open the doors for clubs who wished to spend more, potentially removing the glass ceiling imposed by the big 6. (Can only assume there is more to this, as that seems unlikely)

But, on the other hand, it lets them right off the hook completely when they were operating outside the rules when everyone else adhered to them.
