This was probably our best chance to win a major tournament for the next 10 years. 
All of our big rivals are going through a "transition" where many of the golden generation players have retired, and their younger replacements are not yet anywhere near the level those players reached. 
In 4-8 years time, France, Germany, Spain etc will all be far better than they are in this tournament, and we have turned up and delivered dogwater against very average teams.
