This would not be surprising and I can even see the logic in giving him a bit more time. We’re three places above the relegation zone and have just lost a game that we were expected to lose. Yes, the performance was shocking, but there are going to be one or two of those over the course of the season and it’s better they come in games we were never likely to win rather than in games we should be picking up points from. So I can understand why the club hasn’t pulled the trigger yet.

But for me it’s just delaying the inevitable. When I look at how lacking in coherence we still are after 11 games, how disorganised we are defensively (despite playing defensive line-ups), how heavily reliant we are individual moments of brilliance, and when I look back at how Forest were under Cooper and realise that this is just what his teams do, and I ask myself: “Is this man going to be with us at the end of the season?”, the answer is a resounding ‘no’. And when you’ve sadly concluded that a certain situation is never going to work, you just want that situation over with as soon as possible so that it can be replaced with something else. It just feels like we’re in that weird interim period at the end of a manager’s reign when most of us know it’s not going to work out but it hasn’t yet got quite bad enough for the club to do the necessary. The only thing to do is wait around growing increasingly apathetic until one day the news will come that he’s gone and we’ll be jolted back into life with the adrenaline shot that the appointment of a new manager always brings.

I agree. But the board may also be trying to avoid a cycle of 'appoint a stopgap manager now to keeps us up, then sack him in the summer and get the next 'project' manager in'

They may be trying to have their cake and eat it - just scrape 16th/17th with Cooper and then 'reset' in the summer with a longer term appointment. Depends on their targets I suppose, but they may feel that they can't make a longer term appointment mid-season (although we did that when appointing Rodgers...).

A very risky strategy. They stuck with Rodgers in the hope of scraping survival, which left us too far behind by the time the penny dropped that he was was going to get us relegated and they belatedly pulled the trigger. I am placing my faith in the fact that getting relegated this season may have far more serious consequences than the last relegation, and they won't be so indecisive this time.

Doubt that some players are deliberately under-performing, just to get him to move on.

They've got their own careers on the line currently.

I can't believe that he is still in the job unless negotiations are going on behind the scenes.  They obviously haven't learnt there lesson

I just feel detached from the club at the minute. If I go back to the O’Neil era for example even if we lost we’d make it extremely difficult for most of the big teams. That performance against Man Utd last Sunday was awful, there was no tactics, a lack of effort and I bet if you asked the United players they would say it was the easiest game they’ve had this season.

Our problems stem from the total lack of leadership at the top. I agree that owners should stay in the back ground, but is it too much to ask that they do an interview every 12/18 months stating their plans and aims for the club ?

Steve Cooper has not shown anything to suggest that he will be a successful manager at this club since the first game of pre season, there’s absolutely nothing to suggest he will turn this around and let’s be honest the majority of the fans don’t want him.

To be successful in sport you need momentum and drive and this club is lacking massively in both.
Cooper Out

I’m not sure why there is almost 300 pages trying to oust him … history tells you there is a while to go before this comes to pass

Looks like the owners are happy with the job he’s doing. Get him gone asap.

They will be. We're on for a 35 point season. That'll keep us up.

Their insight & analysis will go no deeper than that.

I’m hoping we are lining up a readily available replacement and that’s why it’s taking a while. We’re speaking to a few. Obviously I’m gonna be completely wrong and he’ll still be in charge for the Chelsea game.

It's getting a bit frustrating watching the same mistakes every game. I want to be patient with him, but he needs to learn fast. Do we even have a defensive coach?

Sadly this will be the case as long as the club is outside of the relegation places.

Staying up is the priority and whether we like it or not, Cooper is currently on target.

That’s fairly risky we should be targeting at least 40 points which would most definitely keep us up, we lose our next three games which is likely we are on course for 27 points which won’t keep us up better off to make the change now to give us a fighting chance of staying up.
