The win over Southampton masked pulled the rug over so many people's eyes. It's not even that he shouldn't be here, it's that we shouldn't have been in the position where we're recruiting crap and hiring bang average managers. Whilst the big clubs are at Harrod's and other clubs are at Waitrose, we're shopping at Lidl and B&M. Not many clubs have spurted away the hope and opportunity we've had. First in 2016 when we spunked money on crap, then we got a second chance in 2019 and managed to fritter that away, too. It’s a long time since I posted in this section so you know you’ve posted something outlandish or stupid. Aldi’s fresh produce at least rivals that of Waitrose, I am not a frequent shopper in Harrods and so I can’t speak to their veg and fruit quality. I demand you raise Aldi up from the likes of B&M which, to my thinking, doesn’t sell fresh fruit or veg. This is a completely messed up analogy. 3 5

I'm actually suprirsed how much he moans at Leicester, it was the complete opposite at Forest
Popular Post Matt Posted 31 October 2024 Popular Post Posted 31 October 2024 I'm not Cooper in nor Cooper out, the whole situation is all abit 'meh' very much like the club and game itself, since 21/22 season I've felt very disillusioned with the club and very disinterested in football, period. Do I think we are where I expected? Very much so. Are we on par for what I thought we'd be on so far? Yes, possibly better than I thought. Do I think it's awful? To be quite honest, no. I'm afraid my metrics and standards dropped during the 2 years (Arguably longer) of pain under Rodgers, and as far as I'm concerned what we're currently seeing is not even near comparable, nothing of that sort, especially when consideration of how far we fell and the mess we were left in. However, this is only going end one way and for that reason I'd rather that be sooner rather than later. This whole club needs a rebuild, root and branch and until that happens nothing with improve. 5
Molson Canadian Posted 31 October 2024 Posted 31 October 2024 he is a complete ostrich. get him out soon please. honestly looks like no game plan/tactics when we play it's at the point where it's confusing to watch. 2
dannythefox Posted 31 October 2024 Posted 31 October 2024 I want him to do well because swapping and changing isn’t good for anyone but I don’t think he’s got it. Needs to go at next international break if it’s going to happen and only if we got a deal done with someone else. 1

I think this team can score a goal, it needs someone that can organise a defence, that's worked with high profile players but still has a lot to prove and won't get a top job until he does prove he's adequate in the premiership, step forward Gareth Southgate, seems exactly like the sort of guy the owners would employ.

Wymsey Posted 31 October 2024 Posted 31 October 2024 You technically can't blame him if there's a poor result on Saturday, as he'll be banned from the touchline..

Bang on, but the replacement will not be a name many people will like, it will be another Dean Smith type. It will be another uninspiring choice. Cooper might be a problem in terms of his capabilities, but he is really the symptom and the problem is worse and at board level, but they continue to get a free ride in favour of an easier target. If their croissants aren't Harrods tier then I don't know what is. And the crusty topped cobs. Fine, I accept that the mini pizzas are completely Greggs, but still. 1

Why? The ownership make many mistakes but they have generally got the management choice right there mistake has been holding on to them for too long. Both Rodgers and maresca were recent correct choices. Cooper obviously wasn't but that does seem to be the exception rather than the rule

The fact Rodgers was here way beyond his sell by date, also speaks to mismanagement. I agree that Rodgers was initially good and Maresca was an excellent pick up, but why not continue with these type of choices? It feels very scattergun too me and as long as we fail to retain a consistent approach with managers, it will continue this way to be inconsistent appointments, but perhaps it is a necessary risk/reward for a club at this level. 1

Mon.is.a.god Posted 1 November 2024 Posted 1 November 2024 Cooper is a modern day Clough. A very wily old fox. He obviously put Ward in goal against Man Utd to give them a false sense of security for the upcoming match against them in the league. Make it look like we got battered so they’re over confident in the next game. He literally took one for the team to get us 3 points in just over a week, genius! 2

I agree with near enough everything you've said, but I do think the current campaign is actually very similar to Rodgers' final year. We can't defend, our underlying stats are horrendous, selections feel like guesswork, and the manager doesn't seem to have the confidence of the players - it's very comparable. Cooper hasn't done it across a few years like Rodgers did, but what we're seeing on the pitch is pretty comparable, I'd say.

Aldi's "fresh" produce is great if you don't expect it to last more than 36 hours in your house without being compost. 5

Oh yes not defending them completely the6 have definitely been huge mistakes and mismanagement I just think generally they get the manager pick right (obviously not with Cooper) just hold on to them too long or mistreat them once they are here I think Dean Smith is a tough one because he was only ever a temporary appointment as by all accounts they were looking at maresca for the summer weather we stayed up or not. I think it would have been hard to get a better temporary appointment 1

Ipswich would not be basing their game prep off Ward being in goal , they surely know Mads is our first choice!, they will counter attack us at every opportunity.
mod hero Posted 1 November 2024 Posted 1 November 2024 When I was at school, if one of your mates had sprinters crisps in their pack up you knew they shopped at Aldi. Fate worse than death at New Parks CC

foxesfan98 Posted 1 November 2024 Posted 1 November 2024 Does anyone really think there's a chance he'll be sacked if we lose tomorrow? I think it would tip me over the edge but I'm worried that the board won't take action as we won two games recently (which we were both lucky to win) and the fact that we're not in the relegation area.

I doubt it, but the pressure will be on, a few more bad results and were in the bottom 3, i think it will force Tops hand
