Rossiter Posted 2 November 2024 Posted 2 November 2024 24 hour ban on using the phrase 'papering over the cracks'. Or would that be papering over the cracks? 1

Popular Post hejammy Posted 3 November 2024 Popular Post Posted 3 November 2024 I just listened to his interview on BBC, the guy is delusional, talked about how we controlled the game. We were second best until the red card, and how he can't see that is beyond belief. On paper we have superior players to Ipswich (no disrespect) but yesterday they were miles better. Just shows that the battle between the managers was won by McKenna, Cooper is just out of his depth and we need to get rid before it's too late. Yes we have the points but as I've said before it's despite Cooper and not because of Cooper. 9
Goober Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 He's going nowhere while we're consistently keep picking up points 1
Happy Fox Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 Our form is going to take a battering over these next 6 games. Manchester United (a) - Loss Chelsea (h) - loss Brentford (a) - loss ( draw best case scenario) West Ham (h) - a game we should target for a win but will be get it? Not so sure tbh! So maybe a draw Brighton (h) - loss Newcastle (a) - loss So at the most we will accrue 3 points may seem a tad pessimistic but I think it’s likely. Hopefully that will give us a decent points buffer over the relegation zone but I suspect our rivals will pick up form. I genuinely feel if a better manager is available we should make the change.

JimJams Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 Win 2 lose 4 and we'd still be on for a point a game. And I think we can take points from 5 of those 6. Chelsea should be too good though given their losses this season have only come with defeats to Man City and Liverpool. But the others are better on paper they're all capable of poor performances and dropping points. I suppose the thing there though is that we're relying on opponents to have off days rather than thinking about ourselves.

That wouldn't be to bad considering the fixtures
Popular Post Groby_Blue Posted 3 November 2024 Popular Post Posted 3 November 2024 Before the season started, I was talking to my Forest supporting mate at work. His summary of Cooper's time at Forest was - Tactically very poor. You won't know what system or formation he's using and the players will look confused about what they are supposed to do for most of the match. He'll sign a load of players and then won't play them. He'll freeze out fans favourites and he'll make decent players look poor. He'll have his favourites who he will almost always play, regardless of how poor their form is. But, you'll be fighting to the end of every game and come away with results that you have no idea how you get. Up to now, absolutely spot on. And now, after Nuno has replaced Cooper? They look a far better team, well drilled, playing to players strengths (look how Wood is doing this season in a system that actually suits him) and the difference with a tactically intelligent manager is night and day. 15 1
Winstonthedog Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 Our football reflects the demenia and qualities of the manager ... boring 💤 no real quality ... no charisma ... .. if i was playing and looked to the dugout for some inspiration .. its not there
Gazza M Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 Can someone explain where this pot of money is to pay off Cooper and his staff and then potentially have to go and pay off another club's staff and coaches to get them here? Even if we got an out of work manager it still feels to me like scuppering our Jan transfer kitty and potentially having to sell a better player to balance the books to meet the financial regulations.
Noahfence Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 We are an incredibly weird side. I don’t think anyone could clearly say what our style of play is or “the cooper way” yet we we’re going along well enough. Have fought back from behind a few times this season which shows the fight and mentality is there. Does Cooper know his best side? Does anyone? I was shouting for Fatawu to start and in the 2 games he has started he’s been pretty poor. BUT he’s a player that can create something out of nothing but also a very good impact player of the bench. Is it an expectation thing? Is it just down to in recent years we’ve become used to challenging at the top so people are having a hard time adjusting to the change in targets? I am so confused about us 1

Muzzy_no7 Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 Luck will run out over the next 6 games. We’ll still be on 11 or 12 pts come mid December 1

I think he's dross but the next 6 games will be huge, if we can somehow get 4 or 5 points, we'll actually be looking good. Just gotta stick at a point a game.

It's a gentle slide back to mid table obscurity in the 2nd tier I think. Which will be impressive dismantling considering where we were 3/4 seasons ago.
FoxinNotts Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 He won’t be going anywhere, as long as he keeps getting points. Simple really. Sorry to disappoint. I would have liked a ‘bettter’ manager too, but we won’t sack him, whilst it looks completely likely that we can achieve our seasons goal - ie staying up.

The paper on the cracks is so thin it's practically transparent. 1 1

He won't and it would be reputationally damaging for the club if we did sack him. 1
trooky Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 Unfortunately he's not going anywhere in the short term. We have some tough games coming up and I guess the club will review his performance after the wolves game depending were we are in the table.
