The Premier league is so much tougher now than a few years back. The counter attacking speed is unreal. So many goals are now scored in the counter press. At the moment we just can't cope with the speed  and skill of these breaks. Newcastle crucified us with their pace. We just don't have those players that can do this.

How old are these guys? Taking someone's glasses off is something you'd likely to see in a school playground not a football pitch. That's right up there would Mourinho poking that guy in the eye and then running away. Pathetic.

The hand in the face / glasses grab looks worse at full speed as well.  Thats gona be a 6 match plus ban so hope it sticks straght away.

What a pathetic little weasel. Absolute playground shite that! Good player but shown his true colours that he's a complete bell end. Unfortunately the Premier league and football in general is littered with bell ends!

I'm actually not convinced there's more than a point in that for them. We could lose the next seven and still be ahead of them on GD.

Thank you for your observations Mr Cooper but why are you still here?

Has any of the bottom 4 picked up a the usual surprise 1-0 shithouse win against one of the top 4 ? It happens every season. It might've happened, i thought it was the Forest win at Anfield but they've been quite good this season. Surely one of us will pull a rabbit out the hat in these runs coming up.

Top 4 is possible while teams like Forest and Villa are still there or thereabouts as the former especially will almost certainly fall off at some stage. I just don't see any of us as capable of shithousing a win against Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool. Nor even Manchester City if they get their act together. The gap is a chasm.

Yes! Great shout!

I feel like Riise would have been a superb pen taker. If I was the keeper, rather than risk getting smashed, I'd just move out the way and let him roll it into the empty net.

I am surprised Andy King wasn't a penalty taker. Had the technique/ composure to be a good choice, I reckon.

I don’t think the league is tougher or harder than at any point in the past 10 years that we’ve been around it. In fact, I’d say the number of truly world class players in the league has decreased dramatically in the past few years. You’re ultimately seeing the effect of financial fair play, clubs that can sustain themselves and clubs that can’t.

I think you just looking at it, in how good the likes of the big 6 are, the improvement is with the likes of Brentford, Forest, Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and co. Many clubs have made decent strides forward.

Its also not down to individual talent either, teams play with much more aggressive press and counter now, and more tactically astute managers are in the division.

I did hear about a month ago Southampton went out try and bring Kasper Hjulmand the former Denmark, who of course some wanted for the Leicester job also. Apparently Southampton wanted him back in November to replace Martin then, but he turned them down. Not sure if he's still someone there targetting.

State of football... if he reacts he'd get banned/sacked and never work again... when the multi millionaire does something wrong he'll get a couple of games ban.

From petty stuff like this, all the way through to rape... they're untouchable

Palace and Ipswich against Spurs.

Wolves away at Fulham.

They're the only ones I can think of so far.

Read conflicting stuff on that. Most of it said that he’d be better off financially if he now took a job.

Yes. To be honest I was disappointed in him. We made it clear we would like him and wasted too much time on him already. From his perspective though it would be better for his career if he took any decent job as you can be out of any profession for too long.

Saints reckon they are getting Hjulmand, any good?  :dunno:

Difficult to judge. Failed in his only big five managerial job. Was very good with Denmark for half of his time and then lost their way slightly

He’s done okay with Denmark, forward thinking coach, but other than Scandinavia his club stints haven’t been particularly great.

His ideology is similar to Brussel martins, but his sides typically play with a much higher press….

Would be a risk.

I think Southampton are gone, it entirely depends on what Wolves new manager can do, but I’m not getting good vibes, seems like a really odd move. I’d say Ipswich are the most likely to come out of the bottom three, just because their never say die attitude will eventually come good.

Unless Ruud can sort out the away form, we will have to solely rely on home games, and that won’t be enough. Hopefully Newcastle acts as a bit of an example that we will need to try something a bit different away from home.

We have too many players who are so inconsistent. Wilf can be brilliant one week then awful for 3. Same with Faes and Mav. Only player who shows any consistency is Mads. Vardy when given the service is pretty reliable. When I watch Ipswich and Everton, they have several players who are pretty solid. Ipswich attack with some pace and Everton are fairly solid defensively. Although these teams are at the bottom, they do have some possible match winners in defence and attack. We need to find this consistency.
