Don't understand why Dyche, in particular, covers his mouth when speaking to his players; as almost most football fans will know he his methods.

Thought this today. As if managers will be spying on him saying “hoof it up to Beto” lol

Foden is due his one good game in 10.........

So true! And when he does it you can guarantee he gets 10 minutes match of the day analysis and player of the month.

Man City and Chelsea

would be funny if both were not in the top 4 come the end of the season!

complete joke of a competition. Needs binning.

Everton’s defending was awful - very unlike a team under Dyche .

Bottling tackles and trying to pass the ball around at the back .

Highlights how poor was our tactic to play with ultra caution against them rather than going for the throat. Had we attacked them and had a good win that might have encouraged Cooper to be more positive and adventurous in subsequent games ... I feel sure that would have put usvin a better situation than we find ourselves in now.

I've never understood the hype. Turns up once every couple of months and gets praised as some sort of World Class player (which he isn't). Never does anything for England either.

One season, last season, he was outstanding (think he scored about 20 goals) but aside from that no better than any other attacking player in any of the top teams.

Reminder that Gary Neville predicted Liverpool to finish below Man United and outside of the top four at the start of the season.

His reasoning being that they'd have a hangover from Klopp leaving like Man United did from SAF leaving and Arsenal did when Wenger left...

Just one thing he's forgetten here... Liverpool have a far better squad than Man United and Arsenal did when SAF and Wenger left. Arsenal literally finished 6th in Wenger's last season. They had a better season under Emery afterwards.

Liverpool are an infinitely better run club than United are or were.

The problem with SAF being the last of the great "managers" is that they were enormously codependent on one man essentially running the club.

When he left, they were so determined to keep up that model they never really modernised the club and they still haven't really.

I'm not a fan of 99% of American owners in the sport but John Henry is a very, very intelligent man who understands not just business success but sporting success.

Liverpool have gone toe to toe with Man City for the last decade because the two clubs understand how to recruit to win, on and off the pitch.

Suffering from similar lack of confidence that we have.

The ability to do the basics deserts players in that situation.

I know this is pretty standard banter, but idea that Man City were in any way a small club pre-takeover just isn't true. They'd still spent most of their existence in the top flight. How bad they were in the mid-to-late 90s clouds a lot of people's judgement in my opinion.

It's pretty understandable though. People's perception of a club is often influenced by the stature of that club when said person was younger. Growing up in Gillingham, with a lot of Gills fans in my family, I went to the 3rd tier playoff final between Man City and Gillingham (incidentally, a genuine case of corruption in the English game). I knew they were a much bigger club then but I'd always assumed they were one of those teams that would jump between the top 2 divisions, perhaps spending a little more time in the top flight. Was quite surprised when I checked and saw that only a quarter of their time was spend outside the top flight.

It happened with us when we won the league as well. The media talked about it as though it was some club that had spent most of it's history in L1 when the reality is that we're one of those 20 or so clubs that probably expect their team to be playing top flight football, with a more recent history of actually winning some things. Obviously, no expectation to ever do what we did and still one of the greatest shocks. If you grew up supporting us around that time, you'd rightly be expecting us to be a top half PL team at least with the odd cup run/potential European qualification

Sorry. Didn't mean to be so entitled...

Oh dear, my heartfelt condolences in that case :D. Cracks me up when people say Leicester is an absolute hole because they've clearly never had the pleasure of visiting the Medway Towns!

Agree with this. I recall Man City under Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison and they won the League in 1968 and unfortunately for us the FA Cup in 1969 So a big club when I was growing up.
