I’m a bit late to the party, but it’s no surprise and quite pleasing to see that Brendan Rodgers in the Champions League still means Celtic taking a massive arse raping.

There's no such thing as Scottish football. It's non existent. Like Martians.

Well celtic get there usual champions league hammerings whilst Villa first game back in europe for 41 years and its two wins in two 😆

Credit to villa, they deserve that seeing Harry Kane fail again is worth a giggle.

Sickening to see those brummie prat’s where they are now considering the gap between us both 5 years ago.

Think how much the gap can change in another 5 years. Sure it’s a great night for Villa but it won’t last forever.

Depends how long they keep emery. There's certs to win a cup under him. Surprised his name isnt mentioned for the England job.

Duran must have one of the best goals per minutes ratios in Europe's top 5 leagues, always seems to score but never seems to start

Yeah 40 odd years but it seems like the former giant has awoken again. They're quite good tbf.

If they had kept Gerrard as manager then they would have been relegated & who knows where they would be now.

But their board could see the warning signs & went & got Emery. He wasn't available but they got him & the difference is there for all to see. Compare that with our board who twiddled their fingers & let Rodgers continue to ruin our club & look where we are now.

We should be the Villa of today, it really is criminal what has happened

I think read somewhere Gerrard spent more money Emery on that Villa squad yet when he was fired they were 17th... shows what a fraud Gerrard is as a manager. Wins a Scottish league title and suddenly your touted as one of top managers in the country 🙄

Frank Lampard's just as shit if not worse. Those two are probably the only managers I’d rank below Cooper.

Emery is definitely up there with the best right now. Thomas Frank is another top-quality manager who deserves recognition.

Don't think Gerrard was ever touted as one of the top managers in the country

Bayern fans are fuming. Kompany is getting the sack either tomorrow morning or after they lose again against Frankfurt on Sunday. He's done either way.

To be fair it was a huge shock he got the job

Tbf the job Gerrard did at Rangers was very good. I don't particularly rate him as a manager but you can't discard that achievement.

What if they beat Frankfurt?

I cannot see him being sacked yet or their owners going to be that knee jerk ?

Sure Kompany wasn’t the most ideal appointment but must  get time .

Those were the days, have a look at that.

Seeing Villa and Newcastle do it in recent years (and West Ham getting the conference league job done) knowing it could have been us pains me every time.

Still an absolute travesty we didn't quality for the CL at least once out of 2019/20 and 2020/21. Vards deserved more than one venture at the top

Who was / is that bloke on here adamant Rodgers is a better manager than Emery lol

There was a fair few a few years ago…

We had a good run and won the two biggest domestic trophies. Yeah we ****ed up afterwards but I wouldn't swap what we experienced for a few CL nights. Villa will have a good few years but the way English football is going they won't become a permanent member of the elite either.

Emery has to be one of the most underrated managers in the league/in the World. He became a meme just because he pronounced some words in his second language wrong.

I would like to see him go on and win a trophy in England. He's a likeable guy.

Yes because our media and football personal are all fluent in Spanish ..

Least he was trying to be polite - I wonder how many  others are ?
