FoxesWalk Posted 16 August 2024 Posted 16 August 2024 Pretty good odds on Spurs to win by 4 or more goals
Torquay Gunner Posted 16 August 2024 Posted 16 August 2024 I believe you can get a decent result, they are only bloody Spurs after all. 🤪 Btw don't all pile on if they get lucky! 1 1
Heskey2011 Posted 16 August 2024 Posted 16 August 2024 🗣Yeves Bissouma isn't playing, and Spurs didn't score more than once from open play in a game without him last season!!!! (plus some other variables) So there is hope guys, come on....it's a free hit, Spurs are good but we could actually score and they could (it's possible) only score one. Let Fatawu have whatever he wants from vending machine loads of E numbers. Also Bobby DCR scored I think 7 goals or assists last season, that's almost 1 in 4. You'd imagine 1in 4 = 0.5 chance of scoring at home. So basically it's just maths..... quick maths but it's 50/50 he scores or assists. Now if we win the toss, compound the interest or percentages or whatever add those two 0.5s you get a 1! 1 in 1 we score a goal. That would be fun wouldn't it, even if it did end 1-4. 1

Popular Post moore_94 Posted 16 August 2024 Popular Post Posted 16 August 2024 (edited) Steve Cooper Pre-Match Press Conference vs Spurs Glad to be back? “Of course. Coaching is my thing. Twenty years. I’ve had time away but I was itching to get back and I’m raring to go.” Injuries? “Patson is not great. He’s suffered quite a serious ankle injury. He’s had an operation and will be out for a few months. Vards has been injured since the second week of pre-season, he’s closer to return but will be a little while. It’s not great. Conor Coady will be out for a few more weeks with his hamstring. Vards is at the latter stages of rehab. With his experience, he understands his body and will have a big say in that process of returning.” Pre-season prepared you? “That will be shown. You never quite know. I’ve had some pre-seasons now where I’ve been confident and it’s not quite gone to plan. And the opposite. The guys did amazing last year in terms of bouncing back. There’s an excitement about being back and a strong motivation to show their worth again in the league. We need to start that on Monday night.” Transfers? “Every season you want to reinforce, you want to strengthen. We’re still going through that process. The club is working together and the communication lines are great. It’s been a slow market. Once I knew this week that there wouldn’t any additions for Monday, I put that to one side and focused on Monday. That’s the only thing we can influence.” Hlozek? “I can’t say that I’ve followed everything that’s out there. Respectfully, some it’s true and some it’s rumours. If I was to talk about one player, I’d have to talk about a dozen, so there’s no point in that. What’s more important is Monday night. The club are working hard to bring players in.” PSR? Dealt with it at Forest? “It was after I left (Forest). I can’t talk about it (here) because I don’t know much about it. We are aware there’s something out there. We’re really clear that it’s not going to influence today’s training or the game on Monday night. If there’s any news the club want me to talk about, I will, but at the moment there’s not. At the moment, there’s excitement and that’s the headline.” Being out of the game? “I can’t wait to get back. I think about the organisation and not myself. It’s always the club first. I missed the Premier League, there’s no doubt about that. I didn’t use the time to down tools. That was the last thing I wanted. I tried to use the time wisely to prepare for the next role. It’s an exciting challenge here. It’s been a good pre-season while transitioning to being a Premier League team again.” Are you ready? “That’s the intention. This is a hard-working group, which is natural. We want to keep a lot of last season going while balancing the challenge of the Premier League. It’s a huge step. We’ve got a nice mix of guys who have been there before and guys going in for the first time. There’s lots of motivation. The intention is that we’re ready.” Motivation? “There’s always a point to prove and a personal goal and motivation that is linked with the team objective. There will be some guys playing in the Prem again. The new guys will want to show they worked hard to get here and deserve to be here. That’s elite performance. You always have a goal to aim for.” Where are goals coming from? “The normal answer is the guys at the top end and it’s not the perfect situation going into this game. We have to find a way. We have to find the right strategy to make sure we can be a threat. We have to believe in our way and the things we’re doing, including creating and scoring. And that’s not just the striker. It’s about how you get it to the top end. We do have enough players to be a threat at the top end.” Being written off. Relish that? “We’ve had it before and it wasn’t the case, so let’s hope it’s the same this year.” Communication with recruitment chiefs? “It’s a very aligned club. You can see why it’s had the success it’s had in its Premier League history. That’s what I’m feeling. The context at the moment is making us a stronger team and squad. Communication lines are clear. Some things haven’t gone our way, which is not the club’s fault. Let’s hope we’re were want to be in a couple of weeks’ time. The players here feel good about themselves and let’s hope we can take that into the season.” When did you know no new signings for Spurs? “They have to be registered by midday on Friday and you know a few days before that because it’s a process, with the medical and registration. It’s a real process. We knew pretty early in the week that it would be unlikely. We’re focusing on the guys here and they deserve that.” Pre-season selection? “You have to be careful with pre-season, with so many players returning later, you’re trying to get the collective up to speed. That was where the team we started with was last week, about getting people up to speed. When Pato went off, that was part of the planning. There’s a plan you have to stick to, to get the guys in a position to make a difference. We’ve been through that process now and now we have to come up with a plan to take on Tottenham.” Spurs? “They’re a really good team, with some positions that are fixed and some that are fluid. We’re at home, we’ve worked hard to get back in the league, and we want to focus on what we can do. Spurs have got some brilliant players and a really good manager. You have to respect and understand what the opponent can do, but it can’t outweigh ourselves.” Season goals? “Those will stay in house. We had a good day on it, the players opening up on what we want to achieve. There was good honesty. We agreed. It’s important the players have a voice. We’ve set them and we’ll try to achieve them.” Edited 16 August 2024 by moore_94 3 2
JimmyC74 Posted 16 August 2024 Posted 16 August 2024 We knew pretty early in the week that it would be unlikely (no one would be signed and registered). Wow. Gobsmacked.
FoxesTalker Posted 16 August 2024 Posted 16 August 2024 (edited) Maddison clearly played a part in the 2022/23 relegation (Everton penalty miss etc), but he was also a huge part of what was built under Rodgers before the downfall. He also spoke well about the club during his time here, so it should be a neutral reception in my view. At the same time though, the underperformance and consequential relegation in 22/23 means that any of those players coming back here will face a level of hostility, so it won't be unique to Maddison.
