I was on the fence about him, really just feeling he was an easy scapegoat, but nah, today was his worst yet. He's just got absolutely nothing about him, and he cost us 20 Jamie Vardys, 2.5 Leo Ulloas, 50 Riyad Mahrez's. He's the epitome of our suicidal transfer policy over the last near-decade.

 

He's been compared to Andy King in terms of his playstyle and limited but battling skillset. What an insult to one of our all-time greats. King did 100x as much in the top flight.

Nonsense. He's a decent 5m level player who, as shown earlier in the season, can operate in a three. 

 

Bad transfer value. And utilised incorrectly. But neither scenarios are his fault.

Surely a good midfielder can operate in a 3 or a 2 though? A midfielder who can only play in a 3 would suggest he has deficiencies that are exposed when he’s not got that extra support. That describes Skipp for me. He’s not quick, he’s not physical, he’s not got a great 1st touch, he isn’t renowned for ranged passing, he doesn’t score many goals and he can’t play on the half turn. I’d say £5m is too expensive for such a flawed player, never mind the fact Skipp actually cost us £25m. Bad transfer value for a bad player in my opinion. I’d rather sign a midfielder that is good enough to play in a 2 and play him in a 3 if the formation requires it.
