Just a total waste of money. We didn’t need him then and we don’t need him now.
It’s no wonder the club are in such a mess with signings like this.
Nobody will sign him so he will be with us on his nice salary in League one whilst the club fall into financial meltdown.
The negligence from Top and Rudkin is beyond belief.

85% success rate not that bad

Most of his passes are simple backwards wall passes. Based on that, an 85% success rate is not great.

Anyone who watched that match and doesn’t think Skipp is a big issue in our team is watching a different game. He wall passes, misplaces passes, underhits passes behind players, gets caught on the ball, gets easily beaten by players running at him. I know people think I get at Skipp but that’s because of his position. It’s so important. You cannot afford to carry a central midfielder, it’s absolutely vital role, particularly in the formation that we keep sticking to and particularly when we need to create chances and actually win games. The substitution should’ve been James for Skipp, not James for Mukasa and it should’ve come at half time.

Yes, he was poor today. He didn’t do much of his running around a lot, especially absent 2nd half.  Him and Winks given a lesson by the Norwich midfielder ( who strangely they subbed , but still went onto to win easily).

I see what you mean about Tuesday. Could be why he looked so off it today.

Yes, very frustrating, and today Winks from looking very accomplished and in control first half, went absent with Skipp 2nd half- so slow in build up play and too many silly little passes that achieve nothing. I can’t remember Norwich doing many of them, but they did the simple pass and move all game.

Pathetic performance - he is meant to be our defensive mid in the pivot and he made just 3 defensive contributions yesterday whilst Norwich just kept walking through our midfield

0 tackles

1 block

1 clearance

1 interception

6 recoveries

2 times dribbled past

0/6 ground duels won

1/2 aerial duels won

2 fouls committed

He did so much running on Tuesday night he might have struggled for energy today. He really did put in a shift on Tuesday night. Looked knackered at the end.

Both him and Winks are so frustrating. As soon as you think they've turned a corner and might have a good run of games they have a stinker.

This is exactly why Spurs were happy to move both of them on, neither of them can do it consistently, still absolutely baffling that we signed Skipp, regardless of the money it cost.

Whilst I agree I think, Fatawu, Ayew, BCDR, Daka, Musaka and Mavididi where worse.

The back 4 and the 2 CM can only do so much, the front 4 could pass to each other or trap a bag of cement.

I don’t think a single player had a decent game.

His natural instinct is to go back and sideways.

I thought he was terrible yesterday, really lightweight.

A likeable lad but that means absolutely **** all when you're hurtling toward Div 1

I used to watch him at Spurs and think what does this guy actually contribute. Offers nothing offensively and very little defensively - he's just sort of there. He's just a poundshop version of Harry Winks. Then we signed them both! I know people will read this and think, 'yeah, yeah'. But I swear it's true. They both need a stronger, more physical defensive midfielder next to them and don't offer enough offensively to make up for it.

We've signed a squad full of players with massive weaknesses. Most recruitment teams then sign players to minimise those weaknesses. Yet, we've signed players who expose those weaknesses even more. The spine of our team is horrendous and why we're in the position we're in.

The most frustrating thing is: even though he offers little defensively, it's more than every other midfielder. He's one of the few that will put a shift in and try and do the things he's not very good at. If our defenders are out of position he will at least try to cover for them.

If JJ is fit, I would start him and Winks at Ipswich.

JJ is one of very few midfielders at this level who has the lot: physicality, creativity and goals. Ideally I would like a physically strong player  alongside him who stays deeper while JJ goes forward. Neither Winks nor Skipp fits the bill but Winks is a better passer.
