Can’t start a fire without a spark.. Oli skipp is on fire and he’s playing (insert team name) off the park.

Started singing this (to myself) after his mercurial, maldini like performance at centre half against Sheffield united for a half 😂

Ran his socks off and that’s the bare minimum everyone in that team should be doing - one of his more acceptable games and he needs to bring that every game bare minimum

still an absolutely honking professional footballer and a couple of  adequate performances shouldn’t fool anyone - call a spade a spade

I always felt that way until his recent upturn in form which is important for our current predicament. Fair play to him. It’s not his fault the club paid too big a fee.

I always felt he struggled with being paired alongside Winks but he has done a lot to disprove that in the last few games. Who wouldn’t dislike playing alongside that arrogant player even if he is talented.

Fantastic last night but I've got to say, the Bristol City number 6 looked like a competition winner.

Skipp and James as the two with Mukasa ahead of them for the forseeable.

I feel the same with some of the praise of Luke Thomas.

He wasn't exactly majorly tested lol

Same with Fatawu. Their left wing back was shambolic.

They looked like the worst side i've seen this season.

If both of them have taken as much shit as they have, the you can't begrudge them getting credit.

There's quite a strange amount of users who seem a lot more happy to post shit than anything positive.

You won't find a bigger critic of the club than me and this season has been a disgrace, but the amount who have revelled in that on here is borderline psychotic.

I've spent a significant amount of my time on this forum defending players that get scapegoated for myriad reasons.

I've called out excessive criticism of the vast majority of our players at some point or other. I think I've probably earned the right to point out some somewhat excessive (albeit harmless) praise without being BoRdErLiNe PsYcHoTiC tbh.

I found a thread from 2007 and you were still piping up then.

Definitely a borderline imo

Skipp played like an average championship midfielder - fair play to him - better than he has been

Thomas played like an average championship full back - absolutely not fair play to him - been dog muck for years - not having him at all and the love is sickening

fatawu had his best game for ages against a guy pretending to be luke thomas - I’ll take it but let’s not kid ourselves fatawu has been potentially the biggest disappointment all year - however he definitely has the ability to get us out of this terrible situation so more like last night and less like last 20 games please Abdul

the absolute over hype of some of our players after picking up a win against one of the worst sides iv ever seen that could have played until next week against the blind asylum and never scored is not really a major positive - again I caveat that by saying just bloody win you useless bunch of over entitled charlatans

happy Wednesday all

Why do I get the impression that like people like Lox on BTG you never attend matches and want the team.to lose so you can have a good moan.

Just let people enjoy a win, good individual performances and a clean sheet ffs. Posts like the ones you’ve posted today make this site not even worth visiting at the minute

Really - grow up - guess your one of the ones that says things are all good after 1 result after watching the past 2 years and clapping them off after games

Again - really ? - there is no enjoying the win - there is a good awful relief that somehow we managed to get 3 points - but there is also plenty of truth around the state of our club - I guess your ok with the players and the leadership - don’t be ridiculous and think things are ok because of last night - much needed win and fingers crossed we find a way for a few more but fundamentally things are broken

I genuinely don’t think there would be any criticism of skipp if we’d paid the 8m he’s worth and was worth in the market.

Poor lad is a victim of the levy/Rudkin combo haha
