Palace probably love Ayew as they had a different player, a younger one who was able to put the effort in. A combo of his legs going, being played out of position and probably not giving a shit any more is probably why we saw a poor version of him.

 

In comparison with Okazaki, do you recon the clubs he joined after us love him as much as we do? Probably not.

I’m not claiming he’s been a world beater, but let’s not pretend we don’t know that some players can be crap at one club and alright elsewhere.

Totally agree okazaki wasn't just a cult hero who happened to be in the side when we won the league he was a bloody excellent footballer in his own right. The absolute peak okazaki we signed as a 29 year old would have been highly rated at most premier League clubs even some of the bigger ones. His profile also Suited Vardy like red wine and a good cheese. 

 

Its quite a reductive way of looking at football to see all forwards who don't score lots of goals as shit. With Hesky Kuyt and okazaki just being a few examples of why that's nonsese. 

 

Anyway back on topic ayew didn't score goals and was shit and a complete willy puller who if I never see again will be to soon.

We got what we signed in terms of goal output. He's a wide-man who we've given the number nine and expected to do number nine things. The reality is we signed an aging wide-man whose best days are behind him and expected him to perform like a centerforward.

 

He's a sympton but not the cause. 

 

That being said, I'm not going to be overwhelmed with sadness when he's no longer with us.

He does have some high ranking stats they are not all low, you have got to give him credit somewhere his highest stat is very impressive. And tops all players in the football leagues, falling over instead of using strenght to stay on your feet is  98.2%

Also the stat for while your on the floor, throwing your arms around like they are dead weights and stropping like a baby in a pram is just as impressive at 96.8%

He’s an absolute ball bag. I saw him ignoring children at the training ground during preseason. Loads of the guys, Wout Faes included, were being really nice and taking photos and signing stuff. Ayew and Mavididi were nobs.

I'm in agreement he's not a centre forward.

 

Quite frankly it was a disgrace he was given Vardy's 9 shirt at the beginning of the season, and not really fair on him. He simply isn't, and never has been that kind of player.
