It's probably the better of the potential destinations, I'd be gutted if he was to go to another English club. Im guessing there's little to no hope of some sell on clause because you can see him having a few successful seasons and getting snapped up for a large fee by the likes of Man City or Liverpool in 3 or 4 years.

There's almost always a sell on clause. Not sure if it's possible when there's a release clause involved though.

It has also been reported a few times that there is no release clause in his contract, so it's difficult to be sure on this one.

It's more than "just" a rumour in fairness. The same guy that broke the news he was coming here has said that Leverkusen are interested, personally I can believe it. 

 

However, that IS all he's said. He's not said they've bid, he's not said we've accepted, he's not said Bilal is pushing for it, he's just said Leverkusen consider him an option.

Wouldn't blame him if he did want to go, felt sorry for him last season when he was trying to make things happen but realised the players around him were all crap.

He’s got soooo much potential. However I still feel  season in the championship would do him the world of good. He’s got the potential to be a top PL player but he needs to start dominating games and adding crucial stats to his name. His miss at the end of the game today sums up his level. A top PL player finishes that.

If no one meets the release clause, which he’s clearly worth more than then the club should hold out for a silly amount. 
 

We’ll miss his creativity and he works so hard, which will massively impact us. But he is destined for the top.

Which is funny cos he looked proper off it first half.  Just shows how good he could be if he has a great game rather than one like today where he wasn't at his best.

Yep, I think it's knowing how good he is and also knowing his time here is limited even if he does stay until summer. He's pivotal to us having a great season or just a good one. His energy and work rate for an attacking midfielder is brilliant.

Really nervous with him having that release clause. Can see a newly promoted club triggering it at the end of the window and leaving us scrabbling to find a replacement. Hopefully, we are already bringing in TWO midfielders anyway, but what a bonus if we can hang on to him for this season.
