Very bad management & judgement from Oliver if that is taken at face value.

On the loan surely we only went in for a 6mth / short term contract to cover for Daka and any possible injury to Vardy during the same period knowing Ayew would be the only back-up.

I’m confident he’ll be going back in January although out somewhere else by the sounds of it.

Presumably Palace hold all the cards in terms of the financial side of things and can hold us to the full amount if they want.

Not sure how it would work on the admin side of things in terms of registering him as a loan player if they refused to take him back.

Isn't it usually the case players can be called back or sent back in these deals, but fees are involved?

Depend on the deal we agreed, they may have no choice but to take him back or we may have no choice but to keep him.

I'm not 100% but I don't think you can recall in January in a Prem to Prem loan.  Anti-competitive or something.  Not that it matters, cos we want to send him back and they don't want him!

Strange panic loan at the time that I think shows how disorganised Cooper and Rudkin were and how it became a case of just 'get anyone in' regardless of skill or class.

With Daka back he's very much surplus to requirements.

Given he was hunted at Celtic, it’s probably the only player’s name Rudkin remembered when Cooper asked him to get a striker in. The fact that Brenda was interested ought to have been warning enough.

Something about the Tom Cannon situation that we're not being told about. On the face of it we didn't need to do the Edouard loan. All a bit weird.

100% doesn’t get registered for second half of season no matter if we can’t send him back

But we could not replace him with another prem loan even if we don't register him.

If we decided to curtail his loan and pay our debt in full out to June then I can’t see that palace wouldn’t try and get him another loan and to recall him once they’d got something sorted.   If they can’t do that then they’ll just leave him with us because they have no interest in helping us unless there is a financial advantage to them.

If we can actually cut the loan short. Any other loan would make us stronger than having him so Palace ain't going to agree whatever the finances involved are.

What's really weird is Palace extending his contract the same day he joined us.

That's not weird, that's an obligation for any Prem side loaning a player to a Prem club in the final year of their contract.

Thanks for this. The quote is much much worse out of context. Alongside what else Glasner said, it makes complete sense. Basically, if he comes back it won't be to play, they'll find him somewhere else to go on loan to for minutes.

We as fans can see that but the club management appear blind to that fact

Agreed !

Buying player from Celtic based on his stats has disaster written all over it. Edouard has done very little since arriving in the EPL.
