Don’t know if true, but if it is, has to be the worst transfer of all time….

Didn't he cost Palace 14m to sign outright? If these numbers are true, we've had our pants down and not for the first time.

I was talking about before but I certainly remember Mahrez being called not good enough a lot. Pearson benched him quite a bit in the great escape season for not tracking back enough didn't he?

I just meant our fans aren't exactly a barometer for whether a player will be any good or not.

Yes, this is true, but it is also true that many of us can see red flag signings coming that the club seemingly cannot.  Bertrand and Vestergaard spring to mind, replacing Chilwell with Castagne, any of Cooper's signings and Ayoze Perez, just off the top of my head.

Actually I might have been in a minority on that last one but he was never good enough for our ambitions at the time.

That can't be true, surely?

The average wage at Crystal Palace (24-25)  is £53,700.  That's according to some website I just looked at, so it must be true.  I don't think Palace are known for paying high wages and if it were true, I hardly think they would have extended this duffer's contract in the summer.  Otherwise, not only have they had our pants down, but they've had their own pants down too.

edit... On the other hand...this from the same website...  :o

To play devil's advocate, pretty much everyone thought Kante, Mahrez and especially Vardy would fail.

These were all ‘low risk’ signings and didn’t put the future of the club in jeapordy.

Good lord, I hope that is wrong…

Surely (hopefully) that's not true.

Palace won't be paying him 90k a week.

They probably weren't but we are....just because the board were desperate to get a striker with an hour or so to go before the deadline

Palace had to give him a one-year extension to get the loan through. He was entering the final year of his contract, and apparently PL rules forbid loaning out a player with less than a year to run on their contract.

The list of mismanagement issues just gets longer. And it looks like Leuven won't deal with us. It embarassing, shameful, and so,so amateurs.  The ownership and Rudkin are destroying any semblance of a a well run club. Please wake up Foxes fans.

OK.  Didn't know that.

I suppose it could have been worse.  We could have bought him outright when we were in for him.

Thank goodness we got patson daka instead 😬

I bet thats why we've paid so much for him. Paying to have him on loan for a year, plus paying enough to cover his wages for him to sit on Palace's bench for the year extension!

This saga is beyond belief

Would not be surprised if the loan fee was 1/4 of the transfer fee they paid for Edouard because that covers their PSR requirements for him for the year and not be worse off as a result of letting him go on loan (discounting the savings on our contributions to his salary as well).

He was originally on a 4 year deal so if they did pay £14m for him then that's about bang on. But they needed him gone, they were waiting to announce Nketiah once Edouard had been moved and were pretty desperate. If we've bowed down to that then it's galling, but I suppose we were desperate for a striker and blinked first.

Still, if it makes anyone feel better, Adam Hlozek is in a relegation scrap with Hoffenheim and has managed less goals this year so far than Jordan Ayew.

Honestly this bloke is full of BS, he blocked me a long time ago for calling him out on it.

We probably have been done over (as usual) but no way I can believe this.

Top is completely ruining his fathers amazing lcfc legacy by his incompetency and faith in people like Rudkin. its such a shame to see when you could easily listen to the room and sack rudkin and co.

its either he is doing a really good job that we dont see or he has leverage on the thais🤣

Yep

we may have covered their psr commitment but we haven’t picked up more than 50% of his wages on top of that.  Still horrendous business

Agreed and certainly about Perez who was bloody useless and costly. The best thing that can be said of him is that there have been even worse signings! 🤣

He used to post constant bollocks on here IIRC.

Perez wasn’t useless, he was constantly played out of position by Rodgers. He’d walk into our team now.

yep he did. Like to think he was ITK but obviously wasn't. I cant remember the exact player he said we had signed but it never happened and then i think he stopped posting.
