He must have a very strong mentality already, to settle in well performance-wise and also dealing with his name being in the public eye at a very young age.

Still looks like he doesn’t know what to do when the crowd sings his name. It’s very humbling watching him

I really don’t want to jinx him but ive seen Lineaker and Emile’s debuts & early careers and certainly Emile was fantastic but this lad is different gravy.

I think it’s hard not to get carried away with him but one thing that has to be remembered is that his very obviously skill is going to make him stand out more on the eye.

we have no idea how he will react to pressure, or when he goes through a bad patch and all the other things that comes with being a footballer.  If his attitude is right and he can handle the he pressure the  he really could be the best thing to ever come out of our academy, by some distance as well

Love the opposition playing just falling to the floor in a heap.

I always remember Mahrez running at Karl Henry when we played QPR in the Great Escape season. Fired off 3 or 4 rapid fire stepovers as Henry backpedaled desperately before collapsing in a confused heap. lol

I think we are playing him on the wrong wing when we bring him on but at least he's getting lots of meaningful minutes

I hope we mix it up, he's very dangerous off either wing and by doing so makes it even harder for the opposition to second guess him.

We are pretty short on winger so I think he'll get time on both sides.

Hope so, it's like having two of the best 16 year olds in the world then.

There was a moment vs Ipswich where he dropped a shoulder to show he was going one way, then dropped the other shoulder, then went the original way and the defenders balance had gone, he just fell over without any contact!

Oh arse! I meant to mark the one year anniversary since this post by making it Jeremy Monga Day!

Well, a lot has happened in that year, and all of it good from him.

HAPPY (belated) JEREMY MONGA DAY EVERYONE! 👏🙏🔥🎉🏆🦊

I've heard this young lads name mentioned a few times recently, but info is scant other than he's an excellent prospect.

So, what do we know about him? What stage is he at in his development? And what can the club do to avoid a potential Trey Nyoni situation?

Yeah, he seems to be quite decent to be fair :thumbup:lol

Just going to enjoy this season and if he stays beyond that then it's a bonus.

Massive credit to our academy. Hopefully with Evans, Page, Aluko, Hutchinson and Motsi we get to herald what we have patiently been developing over the last decade (admittedly some of these have joined our academy only in the last few years)

He needs to be playing week in and week out, it would be disgraceful let's say we get promoted and he has been shipped off to a top 4 premier club, and hardly ever plays for them aka Manchester City or Chelsea, stays with us for a season or two then he can get his move to Dortmund ala Bellingham and then Real Madrid will come calling.

That was the bravest (and potentially most foolhardy) thing Riyad ever did here !   Just waiting for Henry to snap him for the rest of that game!

incidentally, the clip of Monga’s nutmeg missed the second before where he was poor with his touch which tempted the defender too close and enabled the nutmeg to take place.  Looks like a lot of competition on the flanks for young England players.  Dowman will surely wrap up the right side which leaves Monga and a few others fighting for the left.

I think as soon as he finds that confidence to express himself he'll absolutely explode.

Reminds me a lot of Lamine Yamal when he first started to make a name for himself where you could see that he was absurdly talented but just looked a bit shy.

My prediction is that he'll have one game soon where he just completely dominates. Starts demanding the ball from team mates, regularly skins his fullback, scores a great goal etc and from that day he'll just go to a completely new level.

I just don't see how he isn't at one of the world's biggest clubs this time next year. Just have to hope we can get paid.

Best bit of business this club has done in a long time is getting him to commit to a pro deal next summer

I just hope we aren’t still in the position where we have to take a low fee for him

Next summer could be really rough if we lose both Monga and Fatawu

I'm still amazed they've managed to do it. There's a catch somewhere i'm certain.

Did the club ever announce how long the pro deal was? Wouldn't surprise me if it's painfully short and he goes summer 2026.

Nah nothing on the length, though I think it can only be up to 3 years
