We didn’t scout him. Was signed through an agent.

one could tolerate the fact he isn't good with the ball, but I'm yet to see any evidence he can defend either

Brain dead idiot. Player turned him on the halfway line and he pulled him down. How can he protest? Can’t understand why we were 1:1 in the first instance. Nevertheless, stupid challenge cost us the game.

For a centre back his judgement when the ball is in the air is torrid. Always gets caught under it, whereas look at Aluko and Nelson, they can actually attack and head the ball 

 

He's so poor. The red was the right decision because he got rolled by the attacker and didn't position himself correctly.

Bloke has no redeeming features. For a big bloke he's surpringly weak, for a tall fella he's crap in the air, for a fairly athletic looking bloke he has very little pace and added to that he's useless with the ball and clearly lacks a footballing brain of any kind makes him probably one of our worst signings, and there is a decent list.

Faes when interested is a far better player. It was his attitude that was the problem. Okoli is garbage.

I can’t remember another DoF who signed that many awful footballers for that much money and got away with it for so long. There must be some quid pro quo scheme going on here between him and the agents, and one day Rudkin will be in the news , being led away in handcuffs. You can’t make this stuff up.

I've had a fairly positive view of Okoli, I saw him largely as a limited but competent defender.

 

Today was an absolute horror show for him. To get turned so easily is embarrassing for him. That wasn't a particularly nimble or mobile attack he was dealing with. To compound that with hauling him down was rank stupidity, I'm afraid. If there were ten minutes to go and we were winning one nil would be one thing. To do it at the start of a match under a new interim boss. Absolutely brainless. 

 

The real sorry state is that he walks back into the center when he's off his ban.

There were about 4 or 5 things he could have done which would have snuffed out what was not immediate danger but he chose to do the 1 completely brain dead thing.

Possibly a very old fasioned view but when I played you always had two defenders to one attacker to cover breaks. We conceded against Oxford same 1 v 1.

If Okoli was an ok defender you could risk it but he is not an ok defender. Charlton knew this and just played a blind over the top pass.
