Great to be there yesterday, l thought we were rubbish first half, and look like going to be a cert defeat, but l read a comment on here at half time, saying they were there for the taking, and you got it bang on, second half was unreal, and the end pure magic

It was a pleasure and an honour to have been in the away end yesterday, stood not far from the corrie legend Roy Cropper.  To see him sing to the Saints fans at the

end 2 0 up and you f****d it up was joyful.

Onto to the game, please don't start Justin next game he was a liability yesterday, both goals came from his side and he was poor.

All those criticising Cooper (haters have to hate) he got those subs spot on yesterday.

Fatawu was superb Southampton couldn't handle him at all.

Add great performances by Bounatte and Winks when he came on.  Jordan Ayew obviously will still get stick as Cooper, will, but what a cameo.

Aim is to finish top of the bottom six this season.  We are achieving this, and more.

Top day out, top performance, top team.

Shouldn't get too carried away with it though. They should've had a penalty at 2-1 when Ayew pulled there players shirt. Then to add insult to injury for them he scores the winner in the dying seconds. Let's be honest, if it was the other way around we'd all be fuming!

What ifs buts and maybes......do you go about life like this?  Enjoy the moment, oh they hit the bar give them a goal for that we hit the post give us a goal for that.

Enjoy the moment we won for gawds sake!

Southampton are like Candy Floss, there one minute gone the next.

Whatever we Fans think of Cooper, it's clear the players are willing to give it a real go.

I didn't see it as a masterstroke at half time. It was blatantly obvious that we needed Wink's on to get some possession of the Ball and Fats on to try and create something up top. Which he done to almost perfection.

Mav should have been replaced sooner as he was way off his best yesterday.

It was great to see the reaction from the players when we won.

The main thing is we got the 3 points and move on.

Serious these are the games we need to win plus everton palace etc and we will be ok.JJ didnt do a lot wrong you have to show your man outside and not foul if possible.8/9 wins and a few draws will do the job this time

Come on, JJ was at fault for both their goals yesterday.  Woefully out of position, again wandering into the middle of the pitch leaving his side exposed.  Outpaced, numerous times by Kyle walker Peters he needs dropping.  Let Ricardo play there he couldn't do any worse.

You need mavididi to create the space for fatawu. Having 1 winger all season has been too easy to defend against.

Cooper needs to stop bullshitting and watch last year's matches, Enzos system is a massive upgrade. He doesn't have to invite pressure like Enzo did, but the double pivot formed by a fullback is better than this odd unbalanced system he likes.

One thing about Winks. He was played into the ground last season and massively fatigued by the end of the season. Managing his minutes and rotating in midfield may not actually be a bad thing.

@ChrysalisI think I owe you an apology, mate. I watched the whole game again this morning, and there is a bit of a systematic issue that exposes JJ as you suggested.

Pretty early on in the first half, Cooper pushed JJ right up to provide some width and tucked Kristiansen tucked in on the left, so it was pretty much a back 3 of VK, Okoli and Faes. VK and JJ have taken a lot of stick, but neither look comfortable in their roles. VK especially looks unsure at LCB.

You were also right, the first goal was probably Faes' fault, he doesn't seem sure where he's supposed to be at RCB and doesn't react quick enough. JJ is too far up the field to get back quick enough. This is obviously something opposition managers have spotted as an obvious flaw in our set up. So many goals are coming from down that side as opposition managers know exactly how Cooper is going to deploy JJ.

It's pretty easy to exploit the space between Wout and JJ. This is why we're so lopsided, and why Mav can't seem to get into the game. I think he's being asked to play as an inside forward, but he's much more effective as a winger.

IMHO this is total misuse of both full backs, VK especially, who can support the attack and is much more comfortable wide than tucked in. He is definitely not an LCB. I will say that I still think JJ is a liability aerially, he misses too many defensive headers, but he's probably being asked to cover too many spaces. Risky approach for an injury-prone player.

People won't like this, but yesterday was a battle between two poor tactical managers and Cooper blundered through slightly more successfully than Brussel imho.

I'm sure @StriderHiryuwill give you a much better tactical analysis!

I totally agree, The annoying thing is that we have two good Wingers, Both with Pace and Trickery on the Ball. So why not use it.

By playing both you stretch the backline creating space for others also. Why Cooper can't see that seems crazy.

Though Mav was way off it yesterday, probably due to all the travelling.

At half time I did say that the game was still alive because Southampton are under pressure and handling a 2 goal lead would be new to them at this level. And so it turned out with a few good tactical changes.

Yes I thought JJ was exposed yesterday by their and our tactics whereas I think it's obviously even to clueless Cooper that Kristensen is out of his depth (surely)

Bring in Ricardo start Winks and Fatawu and even the fool will have worked it out.

The bitter tears from the first sentence 'Loophole City'

I love how we managed to get the Premier League to admit their rules were poorly written and then got an independent panel to officially state that too while finding in our favour, that because of the way the rules are written we didn't even actually breach any limit because the rule didn't apply to us, yet we get called Loophole City? We didn't even exploit a loophole, we literally just read the rules as they were written!

One thing I am hoping about our current group of players, is that even if they don't rate/like Cooper that they'll keep fighting to win games for the fans, which we saw yesterday. It felt at times under Rodgers that some of the players had just given up but I feel this group seem eager to win and stay up, regardless of Cooper

It was noticeable yesterday seeing some of the players throwing their arms up at us in the corner to raise the noise.

Fatawu, Buonanotte, Vardy and Winks to name a few.

I got the impression they really needed us to help them get over the line - and we did.

I think the players 2 years ago, were a weaker mentality and also just thought, it doesn't matter we can just win the next game. This teams expectations are far lower, relegation battling teams that are expected to be in a relegation battle just have different mindsets than those that get unexpectedly dragged into, the likes of Palace, Everton, Wolves would surely not been surprised to have been bottom half of the table in the last 3 seasons.
