Liam Delap has been a very good signing for them so far. If he can overcome the injuries he's picked up in the last few years then I think he'll be very competent at this level.

Hirst falls in to the same bracket funnily enough. Whilst I don't think we predicted he'd be good enough for the top two divisions, injuries seems to be his biggest barrier.

Our defence will struggle with either or both today. Old Szmodics had our number the last 2 seasons an'all ain't he?! 😂😂😂

Really hope I'm wrong but Ipswich comfortably take us apart today.

Couldn't agree more. But I hope you're wrong and we can do a Cooper master class in luck

And he does have that in his locker. Bournemouth and Southampton for us and countless games where forest were outplayed continually and that Nigerian lump up front would miskick one in.

Let's not overegg Ipswich. We play strikers leagues above Hurst and szmodics and Delap every week. If Delap was leading the line for Man City, we'd be delighted.

Man for man, these are the second poorest team in the division. Yup, worse than us.  I wouldn't for example swap Morsey for Faes in a million years.

I think we are just scarred over the years of us gifting three points to those who desperately need them. It's always been the case. I'll never get over us throwing the 3-0 lead to a winless and woeful and absolutely clueless wolves in 2003 at this time of year.

I actually remember curling up foetel position at the bottom of the stairs as the radio reported the fourth goal  - 88 mins of course - and covering my ears!!!

Don't think ever I've had such pain at a result prior, only for it to be repeated a couple of months later away at Middlesbrough (albeit we drew that, but didn't feel like a point won!) ....

“If we’re talking about the right-hand side and conceding goals, I don’t think we should just talk about JJ,” Cooper said. “Obviously, he’s involved. But it’s not like he’s the only one who defends that side of the pitch. There’s centre-backs that play on that side, midfielders that play on that side, and even attacking players in front.

“We have got to try to cover the work, with and without the ball, for every position and every area of the pitch. That’s the challenge and job if you like. It’s a team thing.

“I’m sure next week there’ll be different topics that are positive and negative. We’ve just got to keep working collectively, keep believing in what we’re doing, and growing the way we want to grow.”

these comments really worry me. It suggests he has no clue that the players are struggling with the system. A very much, it’ll be fine sort of response

Would you expect a manager to single a player out in public?   He's just being diplomatic.

I probably should’ve highlighted the part that does worry me:

Suggests we will continue with the style which I think the players really struggle with.

Well it seems Alves is out of the first team equation after playing for the u21 last night.

He's not been in the equation all season, and if hes not starting a Carabou cup game then i don't expect him to be in any sort of contention for a while. At this point you've got to assume that Cooper has no development plan for him.

Nope. Which is a complete waste of talent. He doesn't have any development plan for any young player.

Will a loss today see the end of Sloth?

Think we all need to get this out of our heads. He won't go until we are 'firmly' rooted in the bottom 3. Wolves need 3 wins over us before that even happens. Whilst the other teams at the bottom are complete dross, he's not going anywhere.

Im now resigned to the best option being he gets us through this season, no matter how horrible, and the boards expectations are realigned next season and hes gone at some point then.

But dont forget to keep going to the end and wait for the 99th minute, five deflection goal.

Part of me agrees. But surely they won't let it get close to another Rodgers situation.

If they do it shows how stupid they are. Plus any new manager is going to need a couple of games to get going.

But they really should have a shortlist ready and waiting.

I'm not over-egging them at all. They are yet to learn the art of winning games at this level, which I believe still contains a lot of dog shit and teams pay the Premier League standard far too much respect.

However all three of those strikers did well at the same level as us last season and two of them against us.

Szmodics scored 3 against us last season and ripped us apart the season before in the FA Cup. Delap was very good vs us in the 1 nil home defeat to Hull too.

We will and have already faced far better players this season and our goals against record speaks for itself, it's hideous. Today doesn't offer us major respite either IMO.

Hirst will score, they'll score a deflection and Morsy should be sent off before half time.

I know exactly what's going to happen but I'll still be ****ing fuming when it does. The mismanagement is off the scale and I'm sick of it.

I can understand Steve Cooper playing down the significance of the game but it is really important. It is a balance but Leicester are giving away too many chances, corners, crosses etc. Be interesting to see if Ricardo and Jannik are brought in to provide some experience. Thought also needs to be on how to maintain some momentum throughout the game with early use of substitutions. Ipswich will be working flat out for 95 plus minutes will make a few changes during the game and we have to match that energy. We struggled last year to see it out in both matches and my fear it that we will run out of steam

New Years Day 95. Sub Zero temperatures - first ever away game - got smashed 4-1 - pretty much confirmed relegation 5 months early. Never been as cold in a stadium.

Genuinely have no idea how this will go, expecting another pummeling of shots on goal.

i agree with what your saying but, what's he supposed to say?

Anything that would inspire confidence.

Some managers let you into the tactical side of things a bit, show that they are aware of certain areas and working on them.

Some managers give insight into their methods and motivations, what their vision for the side is and the identity they're trying to create.

Some managers will inspire loyalty and faith with bizarrely threatening ostrich comments and barely-controlled malice.

Just give me something, man

Ipswich will be pretty confident. We give chances like no other team, and they just need to take them. If they don't, we've shown that we score quite freely off the few chances we create. Overall I think it'll be a draw, 2-2.

Now that’s a proper Leicester fan - already at risk of self-harm before we’ve even named the squad, let alone kicked off. My absolute  respect, sir.
