A consolation goal in a 2-1 loss would be a really shit miracle lol

It was the hope that we'd get another but at the time I didn't realise how late the goal was lol

Another terrible appointment from the clowns that run our club, more money down the pan in paying him off.

if Rudkin had gone with him I’d have booked a day off work to celebrate.

"Men’s First Team training will be overseen by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the Club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible."

The above from the club statement could suggest that someone is lined up for quick appointment, as no mention of caretaker/interim manager, just overseeing first team training.

You'd hope all of this is done PRIOR to them sacking Cooper, but with our lot you never know.

It wasn't a snap decision after yesterday's game to get rid,

You'd hope so. Certainly better teams than us will lose by more to Chelsea at home, so as you say, not exactly knee-jerk.

Looking forward to TalkSport saying we should have given him more time & should be thankful we had him.

They (& media in general) are so out of touch with clubs below the top 6/8. Can't wait.

Maybe Cooper was the interim while the points deduction problem was dealt with. But he hasn't come close to meeting expectations, even for a stop gap. His tactics have basically been to try to avoid conceding and hope for a moment of individual brilliance, but it hasn't worked and he took that to new depths against Chelsea, with seemingly no intention to attack them at all. Ayew's and Mavidid's late

appearances seemed to spark some attacking play despite, rather than because of, Cooper's tactics.

It has been a shambles under Cooper. I'm delighted he is gone.

He was quite useless. No clue over team selection and changed completely the way we played to win matches last season. Good riddance!

Not even that bothered about this. Best manager in the world wouldn’t keep this team up.

Well we'll be putting that to the test because Peps on the way mate!

Goes down for me as the worst manager we’ve ever had, and we’ve had some absolute stinkers.

...Until the next one. Whereupon, the polls, the threads and the obsessive vitriol will all start again.

He wasn't the worst manager that we ever had by a long stretch, but it was a dreadful, dismal appointment given our circumstances and it was immediately evident that he was completely out of his depth in every respect. He should be managing a league one outfit and I would wish him every success in doing so.

Disconnect from the fans doesn't bother me. Plenty of unpopular managers have done well.

Him not getting on with players makes the job untenable. You cannot succeed with key players not on board.

Definitely. You could argue there was a disconnect between Maresca and a pretty sizeable chunk of the fanbase but crucially the players were largely behind him and believed in what we were doing. I dread to think what it must have been like going from that to working under Cooper.

everyone going to be saying cooper sack was harsh without watching a single leicester game. funny how everyone has an opinion on a club they have no idea about when a manager gets sacked
