I am genuinely excited about it yes it’s a risk but every appointment is, I am getting similar vibes to Enzo, Pearson etc reckon the players will be buzzing and be all give the place a real lift and build on the discipline, structure and style that Enzo implemented.

Like Enzo and NP there will be bumps in the road but genuinely think this is the type of appointment we need to make if we want to reestablish ourselves as a forward thinking football club.

In all seriousness I have no idea how he’s going to do, but there’s no way he’d have been hired if it wasn’t for his caretaker stint at Man Utd. So hopefully we get lucky and he’s actually good.

Daka is back as well might turn him into ruud the second

Would hope there is a player in there somewhere but he's just not shown it very often whilst he's been here other than the Spartak Moscow game

No 8dea how he will do.

If hes half as good as he was a striker then we will be okay.

If hes a bottle like when he got owned and bullied by Arsenal in that game we have another manager with no balls letting the likes of Hamza and Vesty run the show.

Good luck to him, csnt be any worse than Cooper.

I’m happy because I think the change in style will be refreshing and he won’t be afraid to use two strikers , be interesting to see how he sets us up

We need two fit ones at once for that to happen!

The Premier League experience argument is something of a red herring. Look at the current managers before taking up their current post.

Arteta - None as manager.

Emery- PL experience prior to Villa was a dire spell at Arsenal.

Iraola - No PL experience.

Frank - No PL experience.

Hurzeler - No PL experience.

Maresca - No PL experience.

Glasner- No PL experience.

Dyche - PL experience at Burnley.

Silva - Relegated once and sacked twice in PL.

McKenna - No PL experience.

Slot - No PL experience.

Guardiola - No PL experience.

Howe - PL experience at Bournemouth.

NES - PL experience at Wolves and sacked by Tottenham.

Martin- No PL experience.

Postecoglou - No PL experience.

Lopetegui - PL experience at Wolves.

O'Neil - PL experience at Bournemouth.

I agree. But I do value managerial experience overall. But he's technically had more time as No.1 than Maresca had before joining us. We will see.

What excites me most as he convincingly beat us twice during his caretaker spell but saw enough to come to us and risk his reputation.

He sees potential and I’m imaging any new manager would have been given assurances about backing in January window.

In one full season of a permanent post, he's won two trophies. In his caretaker position at Manchester United, he won three and drew one.

Compare that to Enzo whose only post in management before us was a pretty underwhelming six months with Parma in Serie B, and he has the credentials.

Talks in the summer according to Tavolieri.

Odd.

I think he was always Tops preference along with Potter,  Rudkin got his way with  Cooper and with it being a disaster, Top stepped in, made the decision to sack Cooper and then pulled rank, took control and brought in the man he wanted. Now just hoping this spells the end of Rudkin’s time here.

Think it’s also a risky move for Ruud. If he fails and it’s going to be a tough job, it’ll tarnish his reputation.
Plus if he loses his first game some of our fans will be on his case immediately. Let’s hope our fans give him time.

Just realised what happens to that Serge video we play before kick-off. Surely not gonna wheel him out to change the words from Steve Cooper to Ruud.

A proper niche thing to think of 😂

Not saying much that the team with one of the highest budgets and wage bills comfortably beats Fatwatu LW and James Justin in no mans land.

Ruuds real test is playing as a team not expected to do well, that's not something he's had to do before. Hate to say it but Lampard's won games for Chelsea, Gerrard's won games for Rangers, how's it gone elsewhere?

A year at PSV with some very good players where you're expected top 2/3 is similar to Enzo here last year. We'll never know if Enzo would have sank, probably.. taking us on is our gamble not his. He's lucky to have got the PSV job without any prior experience and was in the right place at the right time for Top. Big risk that might pay off. He can't kid himself if he thinks it'll be like those few games at Man U or a near season with PSV - big big test for him starting with who the **** he brings with him.
