Nobody is saying van Nistelrooy isn't a risk. You have lost the argument against your original point I'm afraid brother, please stop

Fine, I stand by by claim that no legendary footballer has been a complete success in the Prem, just look at the stats.

I'm sure the rose tinted spectacle brigade will welcome him like the legendary manager ( sorry footballer) he is at the King Power.

We have absolutely no idea what this guy is going to be like as a manager or if he can handle the pressure and the media scrutiny. We only know that he managed Man U for 4 games and beat us twice , not hard.

OK I'll give you Pep though I wouldn't say he was a legendary footballer. Conte , Ancelotti and Mancini were all pretty average in the Prem.

This i such a wild take haha

The fact you’d seriously expected him to have been in place Monday morning is bizarre. It appears you need to manage your own expectations.

It’s hilarious to see time and again the hysterical reactions (same with player signings), when it’s just you that doesn’t have any patience. He is coming just wait and stop over analysing just because you think it should have been done by Sunday evening.

I was giving Monday as an example to say I wasn’t saying to just throw him into the team talk tomorrow, chill out.

You've changed the goalposts entirely from your original query of 'has any legendary footballer gone on to be a great manager'.  And yet you are still wrong as proven by examplew like Pep.

Impressive.

Whilst we have no real idea about how he'll turn out as a manager I think it's fair to say he'll be pretty used to pressure and media scrutiny. In fact that's the ONE thing you should be able to say about a legendary footballer with some certainty.

Delays happen and I understand that.

The problem is the news coming out of the club via media sources is that Top wasn’t knee jerk in his decision on Sunday afternoon. Now the club was absolutely right to get rid of Cooper but if we are told they were “monitoring” performance, why were these discussions, issues etc. not ironed out in the two weeks prior.

RVN was unemployed, the club had concerns. We could’ve gone up against Chelsea and fluked a result but at least those discussion would’ve occurred for a situation the seniors were “monitoring”. In fact there should’ve discussions with more than one person.

There is very little defence for the club going into a game tomorrow with an unknown caretaker - very little. Even for the most loyal KP fanboy. This board, this time in the ownership gets criticised because they make decision and fail to proactively protect the club. These things come across as inept, because they are. Worst case scenario always for Leicester and it has been under the ownership of Top.

Sorry, I think you are wrong in some respects.

So you appoint Ruud late Wednesday with little time to prepare or spend time with the players for a game we are in all probability going to lose, Brentford who have the best home record in the league. We get beaten its a poor start for the new man, and we lose a bit of the new manager bounce.

The most important thing for a manager is to get a good start, doing that at the best home team in the league isn't easy.

Or you can appoint him over the weekend, and he can watch the game from the stands. Gives him four days to prepare for a big home game in front of an energised KP!

If we get something at Brentford it will be credited to the Ruud effect, if we don't it goes against the caretaker coaches.

I think the only complaint we can have is not sacking Cooper in the international break, but then again would you want your new manager having Chelsea at home and Brentford away in his first few games, the new manager bounced destroyed in 2 games?

Some for the "Didn't Start In 92" crowd.

Kenny Dalglish, six league titles with Liverpool as a player and three as a manager.

George Graham won it with Arsenal as a player and manager.

Howard Kendall won it with Everton as a player and manager.

Maybe the trick is to do it with the same club and then you count. Looking forward to Jamie Vardy leading us to the 2034 Premier League title.

I'm tired of reading about Ruud now.    Is he good,?  Is he dodgy?   He's not signed!  He's due to sign, Wed. Thurs, Friday, next week, next month.

I'm going to wait and see now.  Actually I'd be happier losing with  RVN than losing Cooper so that a win :scarf:
