On Potter.

In 6 years, he had taken a 4th tier Swedish team into the top tier. Finished top 8 and qualified for the Europa League group stage. All this without having a sugar daddy financing it.

There's a world of difference between Tony Bloom and his analytical staff researching and screening suitable candidates, and Jon Rudkin and Top picking up the top CV off the pile and knowing the name.

Despite all analytics and researching employed at Brighton, Potter's win % was only just over 31%

Let's hope that the Dutchman makes a flying start, that it won't be a Ruud awakening to the PL, that the Van delivery will be on time and bountiful, and that he won't come a Nistelrooy cropper in managing the club!

Made an absolute mockery of it the year after title win when we were clearly struggling and a change was needed. Don't think I've ever bothered listening to the pundits since

There's been an attitude that we should just accept any shit we get because we've won more than any club our size ever will again. Been there since Ranieri sacking and I don't think it will ever go now. We're just known as entitled for wanting things like effort, or players that don't drink drive.

British punditry doesn’t extend past “current league position = wot do they expect!!”

Never fails to amaze me how poor it actually is. I'm not expecting everyone to agree with everything I say or whatnot but it's just full of lazy tropes and I don't know how many times these things have to play out before they stop making these sorts of comments - though they won't because ultimately their agenda is that only 6 clubs are allowed to show any sort of ambition. Genuinely why I'm likelier to read this place than most media.

Probably not a positive. You’ll struggle to find one of that Ferguson team whom been a decent manager

RVN being a bit of an outsider to their clique is a green flag to me. I can already sense it a bit that they won't have Amorim and I know who I trust more out of him and Neville.

Timing wise im not sure if they announce today hes unlikely to be charge Saturday... which means who will be cant see the coaching staff currently in charge in training be suitable even for one game... no Mike Stowell around anymore... MON fancies having one last go for old time sake 😄

The problem with punditry has always been the complete lack of knowledge on any other clubs outside the big 6. He'll have only watched us when we play the likes of Chelsea and we should get beat anyway.

Then they look at the league table and go purely off our points. Don't bother to delve any deeper or look at what could be the issues. Then get paid to talk about us. It's a great life.

Anyone who watched us against the big six this season would know we've largely been complete dross against all of them. Woeful for large parts against Spurs (good response in the second half to be fair), absolutely murdered at Arsenal, beaten very handily by a dire United and then totally outplayed by Chelsea as well. But then because we're 'only Leicester' (won the league more recently than 3 of the 6) we should be just content to look like absolute dog shit.

By the same point I don't think Ipswich should sack McKenna despite the fact they're in the bottom three. Far more green flags for McKenna's Ipswich than Cooper's Leicester - again, totally obvious to anyone who has watched either.

It's where I think Lineker has fallen down a bit. I think he should've been making our case a lot more than he has done. With the Ranieri stuff he sided with these gobshites.

Lineker knows better as well. Him and his kids are Leicester fans. He even mentioned a few weeks ago that he fears for us because our performances have been so poor. He just chooses to follow their line more often than not. The Ranieri one is a little bit different. He argued it only from a sentimental position. He knew the football was horrendous.

That's what I mean. The Ranieri one was genuinely controversial so I sympathised a bit more but it was also the episode that alerted me to how ridiculous the media actually are.

It would bother me a lot less if I was confident that the club could just act despite this. It was brutal and he didn't really deserve the sack, but Bournemouth going from O'Neil to Iraola was ballsy and I rated that. **** what the others think, just upgrade. I like that.

Back on topic...I like the idea of a coach I know nothing about based on the fact that all the options I do know something about are fairly shit.  This could be amazing or it could be a complete car crash. Either way it should be an interesting ride.

Lineker is quite out of touch with Leicester really. He used to be a lot worse for it when we were out of the Premier League.

Just take something like suggesting Emma Hayes for our manager and saying she would help us sell our season tickets. Months after we'd sold them out for the 10th year running and there being thousands on a waiting list anyway.

When you're club ambassador or whatever he is, it's quite poor.

Back off topic, I had just decided to forgive @Gamble92 following his official apology for his fake news story about Rudkin and then he posts yet more lies and filth this time about no less than Sir Gary Linacre a true Leicester hero who knows the club inside out and makes only wise suggestions.

Forgiveness retracted.  Disgusting.

If you look in the Gary Lineker thread about him leaving, I was extremely complimentary about our hero and said he was the best presenter there is.

This doesn't change that he is often out of touch regarding the club and actually quite condescending about us at times.

From a formation perspective, this is what he played throughout the 22/23 Eredivisie season.
9251956-B-C137-4657-AB40-E4-D8-DAF8-D037

Hopefully @Bluearmyfox28 or @StriderHiryu can add a bit more insight, but my main takeaways from the personnel he used, I’m guessing…

Mwene or Teze were used as a RB who’d drop into a back three when in possession.
Van Aanholt was used as an attacking LB.

Guus Till was often used as an 8/10.
Bakayoko or El Ghazi were used as the wingers to provide width.
Simons was used as a LW who had the capabilities of drifting in field as a 10.
