I think he will still be with us at the start of next season.

I think it requires drastic improvements to certain things over the remaining 6 games. If he starts picking some academy players and we continue to pick up a handful of points he might do, if it's more of the same then I think he goes.

Be interesting to see what happens when relegation gets confirmed this weekend. If he does have a cheaper release/sacking clause then it'll be telling if he stays to the end of the season.

Agree. He’ll be given the start of the season and be fired early November when we are 17th in the Championship.

God, even the thought of having him as manager next season makes me sick. Aside from his ineptitude in team selection and tactics, he has zero connection with the fans. Imagine failing to acknowledge the travelling supporters who've made a 150 mile journey to watch a team who have been dreadful all season and are certs to be relegated, as he did at Brighton last week.

I cannot get my head around the disrespect towards the fans.

Makes him look like an arrogant *****, and a coward.

Funnily enough I have a gut feeling we will be top 6 next season with or without RVN, but our chances of achieving that would be far higher with a lot of the managers others have given. Part of the child in me that absolutely loved RVN as a player still wants him to do well, even though i'd happily see him leave tomorrow.
I just feel like the gap is so big to the prem, even with how disastrous we've been this season we will still have enough especially if we clear some dead wood, and promote Evans, Monga, Alves, Nelson and a couple of others.

Yup, I won't though.

I'll wait this one out. As long as it takes. He's not worthy of my support or anyone else with half a brain cell. Only the blue army, obese, DNA damaged  drongos (of which we have tens of thousands) could support this fella

****er got that ‘play youth’ FM24 board expectation and put poor Evans on for 30 seconds

It does feel like a directive which is coming from above RVN…

Which would be good in that it could show the club could be realising what needs to happen.

The thought of Ruud staying on, has to be one of the most depressing things I’ve read.

No other manager survives those numerous hideous records.

He has shown zero ability since being here other than having a “good aura”.

If the club truly believed Ruud was the right man for the job long term then it would have already been announced that he was staying, the fact it hasn’t says everything, both parties know a parting of the ways is inevitable, the only thing preventing this is our confirmed relegation and the very likelihood that it triggers a reduced pay off or even a break clause.

I think he will be gone, it’s just a matter of time.

If they can get rid on the cheaper I think they will.

I have no idea how much they are constrained by PSR now BUT it must be getting better AND the deadwood is starting to go, bye Danny.

If they seriously retool, then they are bothered, if they say nothing & don’t then they don’t care.

RVN is under contract until 2027. If the club’s intention is for him to stay, why would they issue a statement about it? They’re renowned for keeping things close to their chest and never respond to rumours with public statements, so it’s puzzling that you think they would do so in this instance.

There might be a clause that enables them to sack RVN more cheaply once relegation is confirmed, but I wouldn’t assume that this is their intention simply because they haven’t made any public statement on RVN’s future.

I was expecting an announcement after the Newcastle game but I don't think the club want to be seen to be sacking 2 managers in the same season. The performances of other promoted

clubs has given the manager some more leeway than normal.  I suspect it could even come down to the Southampton and Ipswich games. If City are second best in those games I cannot see any possibility that Ruud will be given a shot at the Championship.

There is the crazy scenario that West Ham beat Southampton, Wolves win at Man Utd so relegation is officially confirmed at 4pm Sunday, At 4.01pm we enact the relegation clause mutual termination and Ruud leaves 25 minutes before kick off😃

Of course I am not being serious but then again we are not a serious football club at the moment!

I think we’ll find out a lot more next week after relegation is confirmed this weekend.

if he’s still in charge this time next week then I’d be very concerned that Top has decided to stick with him…which will result in a complete waste of pre-season, transfer window etc when he inevitably gets sacked in the first international window next season when we are sitting in in the bottom 3

Never liked him as a player.

Dislike him more now, although it's perhaps as much our fault as his that we appointed someone clearly not good enough for the job.

Let's hope we see a picture of the corner flag on the website on Monday.

I think it’s more what Ruud is saying, he has actually stated that talks about his future and the clubs future should have already started but haven’t. If nothing else it shows the club have zero medium or long term strategy and everything is reactionary.
