Will be intriguing to see if Hurzeler goes back to 442/4231 or tries the 3 at the back he tried at Fulham.

Mad how much strength in depth they have. Anything below 6th would be an underachievement for them this season.

They should be pushing for a cup, too.

I've got brochities and only just failed a late fitness test largely based on I could be contagious - I'd walk over broken glass to be there today ......... well that might be overdoing but gutted to be missing it nevertheless

Yeah that’s more than fair but it’s when people just can’t be bothered …

Mines not updated either

I have an iPhone.

my pass hadn’t updated. I turned automatic updates off, then back on again, and it updated straight away. Seem to have to do this most games.

Heard some baffling bits on commentary too, it’s like they haven’t watched a single leicester city match this season and just read brief round up of the last game. Apparently we never looked like winning the previous game, despite scoring the opening goal and also goals are hard to come by for leicester?!? The football might have been viewed as turgid this season, but we’ve certainly managed to score goals and somehow we’ve been in the position to get something from games we shouldn’t have, based on the overall performance (god bless saint Mads lol).

The phrase lazy journalism is way overused but that's pretty much what it is, not exclusive to us either.

The same types that look at results and make an assumption and those to moaned about Cooper being sacked just because we were 15th. Years ago I recall Weat Brom being vilified for sacking Pulis even though they were 14th in the league or something but they only won 2 in their last 20 so the trajectory obviously matters.

Really looking forward to this game for many reasons. I know RVN has been hamstrung to an extent due to player availability but it will be very interesting to see how he sets up for this one. In many ways Brighton are one of the most difficult teams for us to play against due to their pace intensity and organisation. Midfield will be a key battle and they will try to stretch and pass through us. Certainly a tougher test than West Ham. But we have a fighting chance and if we show the same level of fight and determination against these it will be a good game. I think Buonanotte will be a big miss and we could have done with Fatawu here but you never know. COYB.

We have the ability to counter their lack of defensive pace though!

Definitely. We need to on point with our passing though. This is where we’ll miss Buonnanottes determination and the pace and intensity of fatawu. In Bilal Vardy Ayew mavs etc we can hurt them still. I’m buzzing now.

IMO it has nothing to do with journalism. They are not journalists but just guys that once played football at the highest level. I would question whether a few of them are actually able to write....

Keep getting reminded of that 'Miserable Brighton Supporters' or something thread from around a decade ago when reading this thread..

It's been the same for years. Rent-a-pundits parroting the stuff they hear others saying with zero research. The reaction has been the same after sacking every manager too. Above our station, know our place etc etc

You'd have thought a pundit who did more research, got under the skin a bit more etc would stand out like a sore thumb and be worth their weight ion gold rather than these hire a twonks we get

Nice to read people are looking forward to their football again. I do however hope that if optimism takes a hiding today people accept the realities of Ruud’s mission.

Absolutely. With the squad we have he's up against it for sure. But it's all about our intent and being able to see that we're actually being coached

They're a very good team but Brighton have looked vulnerable from set pieces this season. I'm curious to see if we target that today with some training ground moves. If we do cause them problems from them it's another feather in RVN's cap whatever the result.
